Great location. Nice common areas to meet other travellers. Ease of booking tours with multiple options. And the table tennis table! Great fun. No kitchen or dishes for preparing own food.

Great location and cool rooftop! The private three person room was nice. Good hostel vibes for solo travelers Stairs could be steep if you are on the second floor after using the elevator to the lobby.

Love the location and the cleanliness of the room though TV is not working but it’s ok another but NO MORE ROOFTOP ANYMORE I did not like it coz I only have a very short time to stay in this hotel wanna explore more

The location is great, right next to shops and restaurants and the staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms, however are DIRTY. There are cleaning staff, but they only do a cursory clean; the room desperately needs a deep clean and a paint job.

Her kindness and attention to detail made my experience in Chengdu truly memorable. On top of that, Ella makes one of the best coffees I’ve had in China — definitely start your morning with one before heading out to explore! If you’re into nightlife, she also gives great recommendations. The best clubs to experience Chengdu’s bohemian side are . Thank you, Ella, for such a great stay and for making my time in Chengdu unforgettable!

Staff is very kind and pro Shower , toilet and room are very dirty . The shower is on the room this is why dirty , there is no shower area on this hostel .

From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The location is perfect — right in the heart of the city, with easy access to public transport, shops, and the famous food scene. What makes this place even better is the price — it’s super affordable for the quality of stay you get. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. The bar is definitely a highlight! It’s a great spot to meet other travelers, unwind with a cold Panda Beer, and soak in the lively atmosphere. Overall, Chengdu Flipflop Hostel is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a friendly, affordable, and fun place to stay in Chengdu. Highly recommend it! How short my stay there was!

The staff was so helpful,particularly Ruby. She helped us out with finding a 2-day tour to the four-sister mountain. All staffs speak good English, which is very rare in China. The hotel located in the middle of Cheng du, just minutes from Tai Koo Li. Everything was just as described in the picture. People smoking everywhere, but then again-we were in China.

The hotel room was clean, with tatami beds and enough space for two people. The location was quite strategic — just a 7-minute walk to the nearest train station, and conveniently situated right next to a traditional market, bakery, and several restaurants, making it easy for us to find food. The front desk staff spoke English well, were friendly, polite, and very helpful throughout our stay. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip. Nothing

The hostel provides the hosts with an incredible range of activities in case they didn't do research or need help doing them alone. All of the people at the reception were extremely helpful. Any time I had a problem they always provided a solution. One time after I told them I suspected there were mosquitoes in my room because I left the window open, when I came back from exploring the city I had an electric mosquito killer in my room so I could use it. The location of the hotel is also extremely good as it has night street food across multiple nearby streets. Just a personal opinion, but I felt my private room was a bit small.

Wonderful and very helpful staff, very well-located. Ability to book events/excursions is a plus. Can be social depending on the day. A/C works great. Most uncomfortable bed of my life (honestly), I’ve stayed in many, many hostels and I know not to expect luxury, however the dorm beds were borderline painful. It’s a 1 inch thick pad of fluff on wood. Showers full of black mold.
