Exceptional staff, very helpful. Location was perfect, next to the subway station and great restaurants.

Wonderful, cozy rooms and facilities. Very friendly and accommodating staff that made you feel very welcome. I wish there was better lighting in the rooms but it's a minor con compared to all the positivies.

Other than location everything else was a giant disappointment The stay was horrible and made my overall experience pretty bad. 1. Let’s start from the beginning that front desk staff had no English language ability and what shocked me greatly is the kitchen staff spoke better English than the front desk staff. 2.when I entered into the room I realised they have disabled the ability of the guest to decide his or her room temperature. The AC kept blowing hot air at 24 degrees. It felt like I was in a desert sitting on a camel. When I contacted the front desk through a translator they informed me it’s winter in Chengdu and the AC is set to hot, and if I feel too hot I can open the window or they can offer me a water cooler. Let me remind you outside was shit hot and sunny at 20 ish degree ( their so called winter ) for the entire duration I kept on filling the water cooler with water like a camel walking back and forth from Ossis and the experience was horrible. Holiday inn oriental plaza should change its name to holiday motel. 3. Breakfast buffet . The menu was the same everyday and tasted exactly the same for every dish. After eating the same thing for two days on the third day I gave up and ordered food from outside . Guess that their robot broke down the same instance and I was asked to go down and collect it . The staff had no training for the days I visited the buffet . Nobody cleared the plates. All the guest around me were sitting with a pile of used plates , stacking them up but none of the staff bothered on clearing the table. They only clear the table once you are done with the food and leave. I have never been to 3+ star hotel where this happened . All this made be strongly realise this hotel is not upto to mark and I made a grave mistake booking it for my Chengdu trip. 2.

Location Not at all

Location was very good and hotel is beautiful and quit. For me the pillow and bed were comfy. Breakfast as well. I need to follow glutenfree diet, this place helped to do it. I took some gf bread and could eat egg, fruit, veggie etc... In the 1st evening we visited restaurant for dinner, rhey could find solution for my special diet. I really aporiciate the efforts of lady at restaurant ' reception and chef. Subway station is in front of the hotel entrance. People's park is some minutes far fm the hotel. Leadtime of lift was never issue. Some people claimed about bathroom that no privacy due to glass window. We found the bottom to set the electric curtain, so we had privacy ;) Not only in the hotel, but in all city only few people can speak english. If you use tranlation app it can cause some misunderstanding and takes a lot of time to manage the issues. Hotel must improve this as it was very frustrating. We had tight schedule.

Its nearby to TaikooLi and Chunxi Road with just walk within 10mins. Not even 100m reach train station. Super convenience.

Room was clean with complete set of amenities. We booked a room for 3 adults as we’re a family of 3 staying together. However, the bed (which was supposed to be a large king bed) turned out to be really small (comparable to a queen sized bed by international standards). As it was too small for us, we highlighted to the hotel manager. However, his service demanded improvement as he did not speak in a good tone. He also offered to give us a complimentary fruit platter but never delivered it. To be honest, we do not care about the fruit platter, but the fact that he did not fulfill his own promise is an indicator of a lack of sincerity towards his guests, which is very disappointing indeed.

Personnel is very friendly and willing to help. It is close to the city centre and you can order food that will be delivered at the front desk! I asked for an early breakfast at 5:30, they agreed to give me something to eat. In the morning nobody knew of my request even though the person at the front desk left a written note at my arrival. Most of the personnel barely speak English. Given the early start, I asked in advance if it was possible to have a taxi and they said that I have to reserve myself. I suggest you to don’t even try if you do not speak Chinese ; ) I totally understand that in China they have different standard compared to Europe but I also believe that my request were quite basics for a 5 stars hotel.

The hotel's location is ideal, with a subway station conveniently situated right in front of the building. Guests can easily access public transportation to explore the city.

Lobby bar needs more choices in beverages. Restaurant menu also needs more choices in Suchuan cuisine.
