We did not stay here. I have no idea why this place is rated 5 stars. It is a rundown country property. The grass and weeds have not been cut, and the rooms we looked at have probably not had any updates since 1970. We asked about the restaurant we read about in the review and they said they don't have one - they bring food in. Once we asked to see the room before we paid, I believe the manager knew that we would not be staying, as he was standing at the gate to let us leave. Everything - except the manager.

It’s a beautiful colonial style cabins with chimney in the room very cozy!!! Very authentic for the region!! The attention was phenomenal!! I feel like I was home with family!!! Loved!!! N/a

The ducks and the sheep. The outdoor games. The grounds. There were cobwebs in the room - clearly not cleaned well. And dog hairs on the bed. They turned off the wifi at night and until 11 in the morning. The breakfast was dismal with the worst coffee in Columbia when they had it and never ready before 9 am. There was clear plastic tape on cracks in the doors. Generally run- down. They advertised a spa and restaurant but no one was ever in the restaurant. Never saw a spa. The owner lied and overcharged the exchange rate. Not good.

Exceptional

We stayed at the "family studio". The room is big, we were a group of 4 and there was enough space for all of us. The chimney worked perfectly and there were plenty of logs to burn. The place is close to some interesting places but of course you need a car. The breakfast is extremely basic. No coffee available in the room, only in the restaurant at breakfast time. All the place looks careless and dirty. For example, broken chairs and spiderwebs in the restaurant, the chapel looked scary. It is pet friendly but they do not ask the pets owners to clean their pet's excrements. They did not clean the room, and there were neither cleaning elements inside the room, not even a trash can available, only the one in the bathroom. There were grass and moss growing inside the room. The restaurant is too expensive for what you get and the staff is not trained. The refrigerator was broken and it smelled like moss, like it was never used or cleaned. We could not use it. The restrooms in the restaurant were broken so we had to go back to our room when we need it.

People were nice all the time, they tried to find solutions to something that was not my problem but they were good people, they worried about our breakfast and knocked on the door to ask so an appreciate it. and the security guy helped us with firewood for the fireplace I made the reservation for 3 people and according to the owner, it was only for 2. They fixed the room and left an uncovered drink. 3. The shower was not totally clean 4. I asked for 3 towels and they only gave me 2. 5. There was a fireplace but they didn't leave us firewood (the security guy helped us)

This place is amazing! It is one of the most charming, fascinating, and lovely places I have ever stayed. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, with an abundance of trees, grassy hills, and a duck pond. The room, with a private deck, fireplace, plentiful hot water, and king-size bed, was well-appointed and comfortable. The staff was wonderful, helping in every possible way, even coming in the evening to build a fire in the fireplace! We loved the food as well. There was not a thing we did not love. The only thing is that it is a little tricky to find, since it is not on the road. We had to circle back around in order to turn right on the small road next to the car dealer.
