I was recommended Amaravati by a friend who said the place was beautiful, and she was definitely right. There was a short retreat taking place, but I was really one of the only guests. The pool is refreshing and relaxing, the grounds are very zen, and the food they serve is delicious (Indian food). The room is simple, but comfy and clean. There are lots of chill areas to hang out too. The owners are lovely, and the cats are cute! I was able to participate in breathing and meditation exercises one morning. I walked to a nearby temple and the aqueducts with a stunning view of the countryside. I did need to ask quite a few things after checking in, such as how the restaurant operated and what services were available. It would have been better to explain this to me upon checking in. Also it's good to be aware that this is a stay in accommodation that's aimed at people on retreat; it''s not like a typical hotel. I knew this before I arrived so it was fine for me.

owner and his family are very friendly and helpful, i seen owner and family go beyond their scope to help customers. helping them to download form, resolve computer/mobile issues, bring them to places they want to go, last minute order of foods, lent you their personal stuff to use. also the resort is near to many interesting places and nature. good for meditation and retreats. maybe the stairs, it is a 2 storey builings, so lift is not needed but due to my knee operations i have difficulty climbing, owner is very kind to carry my luguages for me to my room.

The host Ritthee was exceedingly hospitable and nice. My flight was delayed and so I had to check in after 10pm. He stayed up to welcome me. A wide variety of Indian vegetarian cuisine were available for meals. The hotel also offers breathtaking views of Chiang Mai from an elevated vantage point and a gorgeous pool. There were no blackout curtains.

I liked the calm, serene atmosphere of the place and it's a great place if you're a looking to get away from it all. Beautiful views and delicious home-cooked food. Location is also convenient near to all the sights around Mae Rim. The room is sparse, so don't expect luxury! I didn't love the pillows or the towel, and I only got one towel. I was only staying to be close to the sights I wanted to visit over the weekend, so didn't take advantage of the extra offerings such as meditation and yoga sessions. I think guests who make use of these would probably get better value for money.
