Staff was very welcoming and helpful. There was no place to smoke. I had to go out on the street to have a cigarette. They should have allowed smoking near the pool or on the balcony.

Nice staff and excellent breakfast We don’t mind walking but the location was a bit far from good restaurants, sights, etc. Both pools were icy cold as it was January but should warm up later in the year. The doors to each room were locked using a key and padlock on the outside , which is understandable because they are apparently using the original heritage doors of the building - but it’s a bit odd. Which means when inside your room the doors need to be secured by a sliding piece of wood.

This is not a 4 star hotel. Max. 3. Also very hard bed and pillows. Their new sister resort next door is more like a 4 start but not this original part. My low score is also based on location. Right outside the hotel there are homeless begging for money

it's quaint, classy and lush. it's a little out of the way but there's much surrounding to be discovered

I had an amazing stay here during my first visit to Chiang Mai! I stayed four nights and the whole team, especially Rose and Kate, made me feel super welcome and at home. The room itself was gorgeous and well-designed. The breakfast was simply outstanding, especially the fresh fruit and the a la carte options, including French toast, pancakes, omelettes, fried egg on avocado toast, etc. Be careful with mosquitoes in the breakfast and pool area, though. Wear some bug spray and long sleeves and ask for the fans and incense to help ward off the skeeters. I enjoyed the location being a bit off of the beaten tourist path, and I found a bevy of delicious+cheap local food options nearby in the Wat Ket neighborhood, especially Kanomjeen Sanpakoi, Aroi Tom Yum Zap, F Care, Black Single Coffee, and various other street food stalls and noodle shops with Thai names. For any pharmacy needs, I really recommend Kittichiengmai Pharmacy down the street - the family running the place is super friendly and I was able to get a few needed things there for a good value and with help and support. Don't overthink it, stay at Shewe Wana! :) The only issue I had was with mosquitoes the first night (I think they were let in because the security guard opened the room door and left the light on for a while before I arrived). There is a mosquito net above the bed which was comforting to have, even if it became a bit difficult to navigate out of during the middle of the night!

The staff make this hotel worth it because they go out of their way to help you and assist you in any way they can. Some of the best staff members I've ever come across in Thailand The room we were in was a stand alone small villa and it was incredibly dark and dingy

It was like an oasis in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Chaing Mai. Lovely staff, fabulous spa, great food and the tropical feel of the gardens gave it a very relaxing atmosphere. Free tuk tuk to the city.

Room are a little tight with the large bed, but still easy to move around.
