Nice character building. Room tastefully decorated. Cosy ambience. C continental breakfast was good. Broken toilet seat Bedside lamp had no bulb. Mattress you could feel the springs!

Proximity to a wedding venue we were attending We stayed in room no 1 The room was small, no air conditioning, no fridge, limited wardrobe space and the decoration is unacceptable in the bathroom. We are a bit surprised that the AA rate the facilities as 4 star ??? We paid for “breakfast included” to then be informed that a cooked breakfast will cost an extra £8.00 each ! Not good value for money especially as the overall cost per night was almost £200 !!!!

Quaint Rooms were tired and very dusty, pillows were awful, throw on end of bed had stains, toothbrush holder was dirty, fan was full of dust, bathroom was grotty, bathroom mirror light didn’t work.

The location was convenient for one night It was tired and could have been cleaner in the rooms.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Ate in the restaurant and the food and service was very good. Room and bathroom was a little tired. Everything worked but just needed some TLC

Excellent fillet steak. Wow factor room. The fish main course was spoilt by too much vinegar. Breakfast was open until 9am but at 9.10am the guests were told to get what they wanted from the buffet as it would be cleared in 5 minutes, and it was! Shower over the bath was difficult to access and had poor water pressure.

Appears quaint and old fashioned, room was clean and a pretty good size. Room furniture was very old fashioned, room smelled odd (musty), bathroom was dated with rusty radiator and poor shower. Needs a bit of money spending on refurbishing. On arrival one staff member was struggling to do everything and seemed put out by any request, we pre booked carvery which wasn’t on offer, limited drinks options in the bar, breakfast was limited and pretty poor really. Staff seemed absent and disinterested.

Lovely rustic hotel and we would stay again. It needs investment and a new manager if it wants to be top notch. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
