BREAKFAST WAS GREAT NO SERVICE FOR DINNER. WE HAD TO GO OUT TO ANOTHER RESTAURANT FOR DINNER. THE SHOWER IN THE ROOM WAS A LITTLE DISCONCERTING.

The staff was excellent. I had used Booking.com to modify my date for a two-room reservation, but only one of the rooms was changed despite the fact that the app showed the correction. Despite the fact that the hotel was relatively full for a local art festival, they were able to sort out the problem for me with Booking.com. The bathroom configuration in our room was a bit strange with the shower stall opening directly into the room. Good thing was traveling with my wife!

1) The extractor fan was making noise on our first night and we reported it in the morning however maintenance did not attend to it we needed to fix it ourselves 2) the positioning of the pool is a little awkward, right in front of the restaurant but nothing they can do about that now

The Protea Hotel is a high standard hotel with great staff, clean facilities and in a great location. Every time my partner and I stay here we have the greatest time! Highly Recommend Nothing

We had no water on news day and the hotel didn’t provide us with water. The waiting time at the restaurant is too long for both dinners and breakfast. The hotel should prioritise the people who have booked the hotel than day visitors for breakfast and the pool

The staff was very friendly, and the food was great. This was actually our second time visiting Clarens. Our first experience in the town wasn’t pleasant, but we later discovered that there’s a Protea Hotel. We decided that on our next visit, we would stay there because we trust the Protea standard—and it did not disappoint. We had a wonderful weekend. It was the friendly people that made us feel welcome, along with the spacious, spotless room. The shower was large enough for two, the bed was big and comfortable, and the room included a bar fridge with plenty of cupboard space. I especially liked that the toilet was separate. The housekeeping staff were excellent and really impressed us with their attention to detail.

Beautiful location - Clarens, a small, picturesque town. Hotel, a beautiful establishment, courteous staff. The room allocated had a very bad smell!!!

Shower had mold all in the grout which caused me to have terrible allergic reaction and headaches. They came to clean it up once I showed them the pictures of the shower, but it was too late for me.
