I got there Friday and they were reroofing the buildings. There was no place to park. The room was definitely dated. The AC was loud, shower temperature was difficult to control. Saturday roofing began early and the blocked one of the exits. The staff while not rude were very short. I am of the opinion of you get what you paid for.

When you arrive at the property, there is a two-lane covered entrance. However, the door was locked to the lobby entrance with a sign that said "use other door". Of course, it was pouring rain. So, I parked under the covered entrance and walked in the rain to the other entrance. The lobby was a train wreck. There were boxes of something stacked near the locked entrance and the owner/manager was huddled behind a security window. You know you are in for a ride when they ask cash or charge! His heavy accent made him difficult to understand as he mumbled behind the security glass. However, he was easy to understand when he asked me to unlock the entrance to let somebody in. They appeared to be his family and they brought him dinner. Why isn't that the door people enter??? The conditions of the property on the outside are terrible. Cigarette butts everywhere, litter, mysterious liquids, crazy cobwebs in the stairwells, etc. The access balcony to all of the second floor rooms was a party zone. I passed multiple people with their room chairs on the balcony smoking and drinking. Now for the room. I think it became non-smoking yesterday! The smell was overwhelming. Despite all of this though, it was remarkably clean. So, there is a positive. In the morning, I went to check out and the office was locked with no one to be found. I left my key in the room. 2 Stars

Older rooms, recently renovated. Secure parking, quiet, peaceful night sleep. Exceptional about value for the money spent.

Terrible Place ! The husband and wife look like they live there as well ! They have children in the lobby .. they threw my Id As me . Very disrespectful and very rude! They canceled my reservation at 11pm because I didn’t have $40 cash for a deposit even though my reservation was already fully booked through Expedia . I had to sleep in my car and call Expedia in the morning for another hotel ! SMH very very rude I tried to talk to them and they said they would call the police on me

it was convenient for walking around. it was fairly quiet all night. everything was great how the ice machine location was left open to the public. they handed us a towel through the change window, where everyone has their hands all day

The German Village Inn is within easy walking distance to many restaurants and bars. The GVI is an older motor Court motel. It is a basic place to stay. The exterior could use a good power washing and a few repairs. In the twenty years we have visited it's condition has gradually declined.

It was fairly quiet even though the motel was sold out.

No breakfast available My only critique would be the in-room lighting. The harsh fluorescent bulbs made me want to not spend time in the room.
