Staff were super friendly and breakfast was really good.
-
Clean rooms and bathroom, excellent cooked breakfast, helpful staff made the stay pleasant.

The mattress on my bed was too small for the bed with the gap being filled out with pillows !

Comfy bed and nice room. Bathroom was dated but clean and functional. Staff were kind and helpful and the room was very good value and located right next to a convenient bus stop for travel around the area. There was significant noise from the pub outside every night that might be a problem for light sleepers and those needing an early night. The chef was accommodating but breakfast could be expanded to some more vegetarian options. Internet was patchy

Unable to open window for fresh air (maybe due to security) I expect a fan may have been available if we'd asked

Room and bathroom was very clean and had everything you needed for your stay. Bed was very comfortable and nice clean crisp bedding. Staff were very nice and welcoming. Breakfast very nice, son loved the coffee from the machine at the bar, A very nice and comfortable stay, well worth the price paid. Thank you Jake & team :) Signage was a little unclear as to where to book in on arrival from the courtyard. You have to go into the pub on the left, not the door that says Hotel opposite on the right as that's the entrance to the rooms. Not the Georges fault, but parking isn't great. But you are in the center of town.

Fantastic central location, amazing staff, very helpful and accommodating, clean, comfy bed, amazing fluffy towels, easy parking,Jake was very happy to accommodate eating times for lovely cooked breakfast. felt very safe and happy being a lone traveller. No negatives.

When we checked in we were told that the hotel was shut for the night for a private Staff party as there was a change of management. This was very poor as we were not told ahead of our booking, which we would have cancelled. We had walked 17 miles and needed food. Informed No food on offer as kitchen closed. The staff were all outside in the benches drinking.not a good site. The bar area was scruffy and untidy and all the curtains inside were drawn closed. All very strange .

Bedroom was well thought out & spotlessly clean. Comfortable bed & good shower. Overall really impressed with the bedroom & I felt safe as a solo woman traveller. Communal areas were tired & smelled musty so I was t expecting my room to be as good as it was!

Large bedroom. Rm 6 had no hot water in the morning. Sink and bath took ages to drain. Kettle leaking around the base. Extractor fan would not turn off all night .

We were made to feel welcomed the staff being very friendly and helpful. In particular I would single out Jake, the chef and deputy manager , for special praise. He is an excellent creative chef who takes great pride in his work. Additionally, he helped carry our luggage up to our room. Having to pay. Seriously, there was nothing about our stay we didn't like.

Lovely old property with lots of history and a very nice atmosphere and feel. The staff were super friendly and we were well looked after. Our room was very comfortable and quiet. Great food, excellent fish and chips for supper and very good cooked breakfast
-
Check in was really friendly and room was clean and to the standards expected Breakfast there were no veggie alternative options like a sausage for cooked. As he was in the kitchen cooking a member of staff was not really around to welcome and let people know where to get hot drinks etc on arrival at breakfast
-
Convenient location, attentive staff, excellent breakfast which was freshly made to order. No parking other than what you can find with various restrictions.
