Clean room. Easy checkin. Responsive staff. We stayed in room 1 Eliza's suite

Parking was easy and plentiful, at least at this time of year. We were a very short walk from the Cumberland main street. Room was clean and comfortable! I was especially impressed with the bed: most even higher end hotels provide far too-heavy blankets and a very fim mattress that lead to a stuffy, uncomfortable sleep. The bed here was perfect, and extremely pleasant. My friend and I also appreciated decent quality toilet paper in the bathroom-- again, a cost cut even many higher end and much more expensive hotels go in for. I also was very happy with the complimentary coffee and tea in the lounge! This meaningful attention to actual guest experience is something I'll remember next time I'm traveling in the area! I would certainly recommend this inn to friends and family.

The bed mattress was well past its lifespan with sagging areas where both of us slept, the smell of room 2 is the most awful smell of cat urine we have encountered. We ended up purchasing candles and febreeze to mark the horrible stench of the room. Lighting in the room was inadequate and made unpacking etc very difficult. The cleanliness of the room and bathroom were not well maintained and required us to wipe down all surfaces. The heat in the room was off and the staff provided a space heater but it could not warm the room sufficiently. The road noise outside the window is excessive at times with modified cars revving engines at the light near the front of the property at all hours of the night. The room did not have a refrigerator which could have been helpful for leftovers or drinks. We still are unclear what is meant by “inn and spa”…. Clearly there is no spa … misleading name. While we enjoyed our time in Cumberland we were very disappointed with the inn.

All in all it wasn’t a bad place for us to rest our heads at the Cumberland Inn / Not Spa.

Heat was out so they provided a space heater. But it tripped the outlet. No hair conditioner or Kleenex. Noisy street traffic. WiFi didn’t work.

Cheap option for lodging. Accommodating for bike riders on the C&O. Great coffee shop down in the next block

We stayed in Room 9 which had two bedrooms and it's own bathroom. To reach the bathroom, we had to walk down the short hallway, past two other rooms. The provided bathrobe, which could probably fit someone up to a size 4X, was very useful. We had a key for the bathroom. We would have appreciated a small bench in the bathroom on which to place our clothes and toiletries. We never saw the innkeepers, but check-in information was texted to us the morning of our arrival. Unfortunately, the spa was closed due to renovation. The inn is a maze of staircases, but clear signage lead us to our room on the 3rd level. The walls are rather thin. I could hear someone blowdrying their hair and smelled weed coming from another room. The extremely soft mattress aggravated my sciatica. The stained bedding and shower curtain should be replaced. The room was a bit chilly with no way to adjust the temperature and no extra blankets. The location is close to restaurants. The Potomac Eagle Scenic Railroad in Romney, WV is about a 35-minute drive away.

Everything was fine. Staff were excellent, location was excellent and the room was high quality. I may have previously said something about the lights in the room. If I did, the lights were perfectly fine. The problem was me. I didn't realize that they could be adjusted. If I did say something about the lights in the room please discount my earlier comment about the lights

The inn was right off the highway and easy to find. You’ll want to park in the back of the property and the steps to enter are within feet of parking. The owner sent me a text with the door codes and explained how to find my key. I was in room 14 that had a double bed. It was for one night and I travel 100% for work so I’m always in hotels this stop was pleasant and relaxing. Room was clean and bathroom was as well. After I long work day and hours of driving I took a shower, ate, and crawled into bed.

Fun place to stay. Beautiful historic building, which has its charms, but it also has very thin walls. At midnight, we got to hear all about the neighbor’s evening, including tales from their bathroom experience.

This property was comfortable and nice. It was an older place but has been kept up and taken care of. It was cool that it had spa services there but we did not use those. We saw no one else there while we were there except a couple from Indianapolis that was just keeping their car there. Otherwise I think we were the only guest despite several rooms. A good word to describe it- quaint. We would recommend this place and would stay there again if ever in that area again
