Ocean Star Da Nang Bay Hotel

I liked the location. And space. Needs some maintenance in a few areas like the tub room in between the bedrooms the sink didn't work and dripped all night and you can tell its been like that for a while. And it was very dirty at the top of the headboards on the beds and between the sides of the beds between the mattress and closet, and ants was everywhere you would spary them and they would move somewhere else.and smelled of sewage in the room. Also the pictures are not accurate there is know roof top space like in the pictures I believe if it was it was many years ago because it looks like just a storage spot now. Also the pictures that show a ocean view out of the bedroom is definitely not true no where around the hotel is it a ocean view .

Broken Toilet Ants before food was introduced. TV didn't Work.

Had some tiny ants that appeared in the water kettle area. Front desk was unclear about creditcard payment policy.

I dont think they have ever cleaned the A/C filter. We stayed for a week wnd every morning we wake up with runny nose + breathing problem. Stuffy nose starts as soon as you enter the room + turn on A/C. Some night I had to turn AC off to be able to breath. Also the beach location proximity that is described here is NOT My Ky beeach.(One that you see in all the travel vlogs) .. The beach here has nothing u want too see.

Friendly staff, bed was comfortable, close to lots of inexpensive restaurants. Musty and moldy smell, directly under the main flight path of Da Nang Airport (Not hotels fault; I’m merely stating I didn’t like the 6am jets flying over the hotel to wake me up. No shop owners or people in the hotels spoke ANY English; but, in fairness to them; I didn’t speak any Vietnamese. Long way away from the real “Da Nang Bay” beach.

Nothing. I never write bad reviews about any businesses in general but this time I had to. We had booked a deluxe double room for 3 nights with a sea view. First we were given a random room at 10th floor. Then I had to go back and show them that we had booked a specific room well in advance. Then the receptionist gave me another room at 5th floor with so called sea view where beach can't be seen and from only 5% of the window where you can see the ocean that too with particular angle. The rooms were really dirty, dust can be seen around the room and the bedsheets have little mites that bite at night. We were promised an iron which was never delivered. Me and my wife were really upset and checked out the next day. Really ruined 1 day from our very limited, 10 days worth of trip in Vietnam.

Staff were nice. And the room was clean Our fridge didn’t work. But the reception let us store items in another fridge

Roof area was closed for renovations. Only a small window facing the sea and view was not so good.

The worst hotel

Location Needs a lot of work, not the cleanest hotel, staff was ok.

The hotel staff thankfully agreed to quickly process a full refund for the entirety of our reservation upon request. We checked in but then immediately decided to leave given the dirty and poor condition of the room and hotel. The hotel room itself was very dirty. We noticed immediately that the pleather headboard of one bed was filthy and used a wet wipe to clean it and dirt and God knows what else came off onto the wipe. Since the headboard had a pleather surface that was easily wipeable, that means that no one had ever cleaned it prior to us. There were stains on the tails of the curtains right above the bed. The bath mat to the bathroom also had dirt on it and sandal prints like someone had already stepped all over it. The AC remote was dirty as well and the AC seemed to not work. In the hotel lobby, there was a loose light hanging on by its wires right by the reception desk where you could easily hit your head. We booked this hotel for the beautiful bar and breakfast/dining area shown in the photos, but when we went up there, the entire floor had been emptied and stripped down to the bare floor and walls, with large open electrical wires hanging out everywhere. This hotel was not only dirty but also a safety hazard. We immediately decided to check out and had to find another hotel on the day of to salvage our trip in Da Nang.

There was no hot water only lukewarm. It looked slightly different from the pictures online.

I loved the nice little view of the beach, quite chill without street noise around, and you can see the airport. No street noise, but the airplane noises can be quite loud. There was an issue with the room cards, with my neighbor being able to open my room if he wishes, and then the key was locked, so I needed to go every time with staff to open my room. Would deserve a higher rate if the rooftop was usable

Clean room, no bugs. Very kind staff. Didn’t have the room I booked a month ago. Put me in a room that had construction going on on the floor above. I will never stay here again, nor recommend it.

Spacious, clean room. Quality guest service from the staff. Good location.
