Excellent experience lodging in a cultural heritage accomodation, the proximity to the ancient town and the welcoming, friendly and helpful staffs. Not am aware of over my stay...

Wondefrul atmosphere a bit more variety at breakfast would make this hotel perfect

The place is beautiful, very calm and convenient. The staff is very nice and helpful. I recommend it for any number of days in Dali.

Location was great. Staff was super welcoming and warming. Spotted 2 cats in the area to my wife delight Sound insulation. Especially when the guest above walk, the ceiling will creak. Facility is abit old, the shower door couldnt close fully, there is a gap in the seal which causes water to splash out even though the shower door is close. Water temperature is not consistent.

The rustic look and feel of ancient Chinese house with a courtyard. Nice renovation with modern convenience that retained the ancient look. Very friendly and accommodation and staff, plus a room dedicated to display Chinese culture - where one can learn calligraphy and guqin (a plucked seven-string Chinese musical instrument).

The place is in the heart of the old town, in a small alley where it’s quiet and there’s no traffic or street stalls to bother you. The room was really beautiful, in traditional Chinese style, and had everything we needed — including a bathtub and heated floor. The staff was very nice. We had a bit of trouble asking for a taxi because only one woman spoke good English.

Beautiful historical courtyard boutique hotel. Unfortunately it takes some time to be reached after a car drops you off in the old city. The selection of breakfast is not that wide

Everything about this place is awesome, location, staff, support and facilities. An old building with most original architectural appeal with modern touch.

Extremely quaint setting, very close to all the action, yet modern and comfortable. Steep stairs may not be suitable for older guests who are less mobile.

Interesting rustic hotel in good location in old town. Very friendly and helpful staff. A bit too rustic for our 5 star tastes. Limited control over heating (or AC).

Worth the experience

The hotel is built within a beautifully restored old Chinese-style courtyard, giving it a lot of character and charm. It felt like stepping into a piece of history, which was one of the highlights of the stay. The room was cozy and the bed was comfortable, equipped with an electric warmer that helped keep things toasty, especially during the cooler evenings. Breakfast was provided, and the auntie serving/cooking was very nice and made such a great mixian! The hotel is located in the ancient town which is convenient but would need to reach out to hotel to make arrangements for bringing the luggage because vehicles can't enter the ancient town While the design and heritage of the hotel are lovely, the room felt quite small, and there wasn't much furniture or space to put things. We had to rearrange some items to make room for our belongings, which was a bit of a hassle. Another issue we encountered was with the amenities. The toilet bidet wasn’t working properly for one of the two rooms booked and the ventilation could use some improvement especially since the toilet doors could not be closed. We had to walk by the hotel's public toilet to one of the booked rooms, which was fine but the toilet emitted a smell so it wasn't the most pleasant experience having to pass by it every day.

The room was quiet.

Staff was friendly, extremely helpful and patient. Location in the middle of old town, lots of restaurants, shops, etc. We loved living in an historical preserved courtyard house. Breakfast was ok, local warm cooked food as well as bread. Local coffee was very good. Old town does not allowed vehicles in, a fair bit of walking to the main street to get public transport e.g. taxi.

The breakfast was another highlight, with a stunning dining area and a wide variety of delicious options to start the day. Located in the heart of Dali Ancient City, the hotel is close to all the vibrant attractions yet surprisingly peaceful at night, ensuring a restful stay. This hotel exceeded all our expectations, offering the perfect balance of tradition, comfort, and convenience. Highly recommended!

Charming hotel with a laid back atmosphere

Location is excellent as it is in the center of the Old Town. The hotel is quiet and full of history inside over 200 years old. Staff are very helpful. They can pick up your luggage with trolley at the closest entrance of the Old Town since cars are prohibited to drive in the town. Breakfast are delicious especially the rice noodles soup. By staying there, I feel like I am going back to 200 years ago.

Great location, really near to the best streets in Dali. Very traditional appearance (great for photos!) and friendly staff (although English not spoken at all times), good breakfast room, and communal sitting areas (inside and out). The room was on the smaller side of others we experienced in Yunnan. The corridor to the hotel was inundated with photographers and their subjects so we regularly had to wait to come in or out (or face the wrath of the photographers!). Not the hotel's fault but a little inconvenient. That said, it also backs up the great location!
