Dali Yanyuan Mountain Retreat（大理晏清山居客栈)

Staff super hospitable, gracious, accommodating. Room has everything I need. Love the courtyard!!! Liked everything! This is our favorite hotel during trip to Yunnan!

Incredible 10/10 service - the two gentleman who worked the front desk were so kind and accommodating and spoke great English. Beautiful building in a great location with a spectacular center courtyard. Close to all the action but the service really set it apart.

The hotel is in a good location, which is convenient to go to scenic spots. There are tons of restaurants around. Once you step into the hotel it is very quiet. There is a beautiful courtyard and lots of seats to sit and enjoy. There is also washer and dryer for use free of charge. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They informed us the local weather in advance. There was a tea reception when we arrived. Mr. Wang also provided us travel advice. We checked out early in the morning and left our luggage at the hotel until the afternoon. Mr. Wang kindly kept our room in case we needed a shower before we headed to the train station. He also helped us load our luggage into the taxi. None.

We had a wonderful stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the property was beautifully designed and stylish. Everything was comfortable and convenient. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Dali.

Had booked this property based on a recommendation of a friend. Location of the property was just across the road to the Old Town. Room is very spacious and the best is that the toilet is heated up so it doesn't feel so cold after the shower. Nothing. Everything is good.

Convenience, nice staff, good and clean

Front desk help were excellent! Room was spacious. Heater in bed was great. Appreciated all the water bottles. The guys who helped with checked in and check out. Help with ordering a 7 person didi to the train station.

Clean and big room, comfortable bed, bathroom well equipped and spacious. They ensure there is enough bottled water and slippers. The staffs were exceptionally helpful and friendly. We washed our clothes and the dryer is unable to dry due to the capacity. The staffs help us to dry and even folded our clothes. Great job! The location is fantastic, near a lot of eateries and old town. At the reception they even offer a nice cookies and sweets.Recommended place to stay. None. Great job! Keep up the cleanliness and friendliness.

The hotel is conveniently located across the street from the Ancient City East and North Gates making it easy to get around on foot. In addition, Bus Number 4 that ends at the Dali Railway station is half a block away. Across the main street is another bus stop that goes to Xizhou Ancient Town. The ticket office to the Zhonghe Cablecar Cangshan Mountain is a quick 1km walk away. Private car or taxi is not needed. If a Guest stays three days or longer, the hotel provides a complementary private car pickup from either the railway station or airport. It was so nice getting off the train and having a driver waiting to take me to the hotel! The Hotel is beautifully decorated with plants, fish ponds and running water streams aesthetically pleasing to the eye and very relaxing. The Front Desk staff, Lin and Chou go out of their way to make every Guest feel welcomed, comfortable and happy. Lin’s command of English is very good. Chou is working on improving his ability with the language and uses a translator app effectively. Lin went out of his way helping me plan out the places I chose to visit and even gave me a ride on his scooter up to the cablecar entrance so that I could spend the day hiking! One senses immediately that this hotel’s focus is on providing excellent customer service, in addition to a clean, comfortable environment. Housekeeping is also excellent. My room was cleaned and restocked with bottled water and towels daily. I would not hesitate booking a room at this hotel if I returned to Dali again. It’s a great place to stay. Nothing negative. My experience was all 100% positive.

This guesthouse is beautifully surrounded by greenery, with flowing water features and fish adding to the peaceful atmosphere. The courtyard is especially charming—a lovely place to relax. The front desk staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, always taking the time to patiently answer any questions we had. The location is excellent—just steps from one of the entrances to Dali Old Town and close to restaurants, bus stops, and local markets. It made planning day trips to surrounding areas incredibly convenient, thanks to easy access to public buses, taxis, and ride-hailing services. I'm giving this guesthouse an 8 of 10 because, while the atmosphere and service were lovely, I found the price a bit high relative to the facilities and the quality of the guest rooms. For the amount paid, I had expected a bit more in terms of comfort and amenities for the rooms we booked.

Our stay at Dali Yanyuan was fabulous! The location is closed to the south gate of the Dali old town and big market - we timed our visit well enough to enjoy the incredible market activities and street foods. Our inn keeper, nicked name “elephant” was a kind, handsome young fellow who speaks impeccable English. He picked us up at the bus stop and helped with our luggages. He also gave us information and tips for sightseeing. We ended up exchanging lots of local and travel stories :) The property was spacious, quiet and very beautiful. Beds and pillows were very comfortable that we had a good night of rest. Too bad we stayed just one night :( We are looking forward to coming back again soon.

The place is enchanting and every detail is curated. It is well located (nearby the ancient town) but also in a quiet street. The staff has been extremely helpful. They arranged my transportation and have been really kind. The rooms are very high quality and the breakfast was great. I highly recommend this Nothing

Accommodation's location was good, tucked inside a side lane hence away from the crowd and noise. Reception staff was very helpful and gave good advice on transport options for visiting the various tourist attractions. The room was also cozy with a very comfortable bed. Bottled water was provided every day. One can make use of the washing machine and dryer to wash our laundry with complimentary use of laundry detergent. Highly recommended for one to stay here during your visit to Dali. Nothing

Lovely ambience, very friendly and helpful staff. Due to Sanyuejie, water was in short supply, but they still did their best to ensure comfort

It is within walking distance to the Dali Ancient City. Some good restaurants are in close vicinity. There is a street market nearby that sells delicious breakfast. Sheng (sorry may have spelled your name wrong) and Catherine were super friendly and helpful staff and spoke fluent English. Free pick-up service from the train station if you stay 3 nights or more. We had a very comfortable and pleasant stay. Thank you. Nil
