Dali Yun Xi Boutique Inn

We had a wonderful stay at this inn in Dali. The traditional Chinese-style courtyard is beautifully designed, peaceful, and full of charm, making it a perfect place to relax. One of the highlights was the rooftop balcony, which offers stunning mountain views—it's the perfect spot to enjoy the sunrise, sunset, or simply take in the beautiful scenery. The rooms were comfortable, made us feel completely at home. The host was very kind and helpful. She helped us arrange transportation from Dali to Lijiang, which made our trip much smoother and stress-free. None

Very close to the gate, which makes it easy to get to. Also, at the beginning of the Main streets to walk around. Positioned away somewhat from the lousy bar scene. The accommodations were spotless and extremely clean. The owner, greeted Me with a smile every time I walked through the door. This is exactly how an accommodation should be run. Definitely a great place to stay. Could be a better reading light in bed

Very nice hotel in the middle of the old town, everything can be reached by foot, restaurants, coffee shops, supermarkets. Owner family is very friendly and helpful, and speak English. Nothing to complain about.

The sweetest family and staff run this Inn!

This family-run, beautiful hotel is an oasis of calm in the very happening old city. It was so nice to come back after a long day to the beautiful plants, natural wood, and wonderful family running the hotel. I highly recommend staying here. We would be happy to come back if we are in town again. Beds and pillows were great. Rooms have nice, large windows with screens for fresh air or air conditioning. Our small child loved the bird and the two cats that stay downstairs. Everything was great.

What a lovely place :) Extremely nice host/owner. Cozy place, nice, modern room. Very easy to find Strategic position not far from route to Dali at the beginning of the most attractive part of downtown. Anytime again.

This was a beautiful hotel set just inside the gate in the Old Town. This is important, as it means that it is easy to get your bags from your car/taxi into the hotel. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with hot water round the clock. The breakfast was cooked fresh to order and the owner was very friendly, as were others who worked there. In the old town there are lots of bars with live singers and karaoke and our room faced onto one. Thoughtfully the hotel had supplied ear plugs which helped drown out the noise. They finished at about 11pm, so not too late. To be honest, I'm not sure if any hotel in Dali is spared the noise of badly sung karaoke, as there seemed to be so many of them around and also a lot of hotels and residential buildings.

A small and nice hotel in excellent location in the old town of Dali. It is owned and managed by a local very nice and helpful English speaking family. Rooms are not huge but nicely decorated. Very clean and comfortable bed, and good hot shower. The hotel has a nice rooftop terrace with views. A good Western breakfast is available from 8:30am. Not enough lighting in the room, especially in the desk and luggage area, which makes it hard to manage in the evenings. My room had a slight sewer smell. The bed is placed on a platform which may make it harder to get on and off bed for older people. The bed though was comfortable. Breakfast starting at 8:30 may be late for some. For us though, these were pretty minor, except for the lighting O verall we liked it

This place has a very appealing aesthetic with traditional elements while also being very comfortable. The owner was also fantastic and extremely helpful.

Amazing design, rooms, facilities, view. Location is very convenient, in the middle of the ancient city and in the quiet place. Host was extremely helpful. Best stay during my trip.

Bella was very helpful and friendly. One room was quite noisy, not a problem but just to be aware. The noise is from the street. Ear plugs were in each room.

Good location. Inside ancient city but can access by car.

This review is specific to our room, which directly faced Erhai gate, other rooms may be better... For some reason, the local government has allowed food stands right next to the gate, which means right next to the Inn. The stands have extremely bright signs that blast into the room, and also generate a lot of noise, including automated speakers that repeat the same message over and over. Some things quieted down between 11 and 11:30, but there is noise from the food stands until 1 a.m., and one night, they played cards and drank beer in one of the stands until 4:30 in the morning, with much loud talking and laughing... I didn't sleep at all, and proprietors of Inn called police to shut them down at around 2:30, but they didn't come around until 4:30. They also left the bright signs lit until 3 a.m. So, two nights didn't sleep until after 1 a.m., and one night not at all. Also, there are several bars on the other side of the Inn, and they play music until 11 p.m. that literally rattles the building. Staying here seems a gamble on the room, and the type of traveler/sleeper you are (my wife slept through most of it, until the loud party night). Concession people also use the area between the Inn and Erhai Gate as a bathroom.

The property is definitely instaworthy and sooooo comfortable!! I love every bit of it.

By far the best hotel during our stay in Yunnan. Great position, nice and clean rooms, good homemade breakfast. The hosts both know english and are very communicative and helpful. We felt very welcome.
