The Hotel@Dayton South

Avoid this place. Were informed there was not going to be hot water for 2 days when we checked in. No message ahead of time to let us know. We pushed for remediation and they agreed to comp us one night. Toilet didn’t work in room. The tech knocked on the door at 730 am to fix it - woke us all up. Went down for breakfast to discover no hot breakfast. Only yoghurt and cereal on account of no hot water - unsure how they’re related. Room didn’t get cleaned. Were told we had to inform staff if we wanted cleaning (door tags only for show, I guess). We reminded them the following day multiple times and multiple staff including the acting manager… room still didn’t get cleaned.

The check in was easy. The staff was friendly. The location was quiet. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I liked having a larger refrigerator to stock items. The hot breakfast options were good. I would definitely stay again.

The stay was ok. Nothing extraordinary. Breakfast was good. The only problem was the water heater/boiler went out Saturday night and no one had hot water for showers Sunday morning. In my pointy little head, this should have been handled in a better way than the surprise you have standing there naked waiting for hot water. Primarily...fix the problem ASAP when management knew of the situation. Also, inform all people that are checking in of the problem and give them alternatives. Notify all currently booked patrons of the problem and inform them of what refunds/adjustments can be made. This is what separates great management from the run of the mill hotel/motels out there. So yeah... just a "Meh" rating.

A chain i am not familiar with but I had a pleasant experience here. Worst thing about it was I heard some of the other guests in their rooms talking but if you know how to zone out its good.

The breakfast was hot and plenty of options. They need to get the cappuccino machine fixed. Area for the breakfast was clean. The staff was very nice.

Super staff

The staff were polite and flexible I emailed the hotel the day before letting them know that I would be a late arrival. The day of my check in I called to ensure that my reservation was my canceled and provided my card number over the phone. The receptionist said that the card would be run around 3am with the night auditor. I arrived at 4 am and the reservation was canceled and the receptionist said he wasn't informed. (Not my problem, I emailed and called) I was charged a higher nightly rate directly through them, instead of Booking.com rate. I was also charged a higher pet stay rate than what was listed on the booking.com details. I had to extend my stay by 2 nights, that receptionist didn't charge me for my pets, (again not my problem). Our last night, Dayton had heavy rainfall and the bathroom flooded from the ceiling due to the roof not being sealed. Now the hotel doesn't want to refund me my security deposit claiming the extra cleaning they had to do and the room being down for 2 days. You have to replace the whole ceiling in the bathroom anyway!

We don’t have hot water during our stay

It was clean and comfortable! Nice Breakfast bar! There was no hot water but was told this at chek in., It was a little run down, thin walls could hear neighbors all night long.

Bad

The staff was very accommodating Room was in poor shape. Ironing board was broken, the couch squeaked loudly with any movement, furniture was banged up, refrigerator was frozen solid, and the cable was out due to a storm so there was no tv

Room and common areas were very clean. Staff were helpful and the breakfast was good. Will stay there again.

Hot water was out since...

Good, safe place to stay. Positives: good value, clean, and safe area. Negatives: One of the mornings there wasn't any hot water. Also, one of the side doors was unlocked and didn't require card access. This was the case 24/7. Overall a good stay and would probably return.

This was a okay stay. Very clean. Room are decent size. Staff was nice when i was checking in. Unfortunately, i had to take a cold shower. There wasn’t any cold water. I tried to go to front desk but no one was there, after waiting for 15 min i just left. Family and I needed to get back on road to get our next destination. As I was leaving some elderly man mentioned it’s been two days since he had any hot water.

Stayed 3 nights for an out of town show and it sufficed. Hotel is in need of a renovation-everything is pretty much out dated (carpets stained, chipped furniture). Had no hot water Saturday night-was never notified by any staff about the issue just found out when we went to use the shower after a long day. Staff we interacted with were friendly. It’s close to shopping/restaurants. In a pinch for a few nights it does the job but needs better upkeep.
