This was my second stay within several weeks. I was greeted like an old friend. The room was just perfect. When my flight to Colombo was cancelled due to Cyclone Ditwah the hotel was happy to extend my stay, arrange new transport to airport when needed and assist in other communications contact. All in all a brilliant hotel and staff. I have nothing to note that I would wish changed.

—Great location! It is either in, or immediately outside, the main tourist district. Major western hotel chains like the Westin, Sheraton, and Crown Plaza are only a 5-8 minute walk away. —Very comfortable beds & pillows —Good water pressure. Plentiful hot water. Did experience weak water pressure and minimal hot water just one morning out a six day stay. Otherwise, it was very good. —Very helpful & friendly Front Desk staff. They know good English too. —Very good security guards at hotel. —Lots of bathroom amenities like toothbrush/paste, body lotion, etc. —Good A/C in room. Can adjust yourself (the temperature setting lowers periodic for some reason, but then goes back to your setting). —There is a welcome drink of fresh papaya juice which was kind of nice. —The breakfast buffet was very good, both Western and local specialties. They even have a cook-to-order omelet station (which I was surprised for this size hotel). No fresh brewed coffee, though (only instant). —Everything in the hotel is clean and in good order. —Good selection of TV channels, including a few in English (news mostly). —The hotel is in a safe area. —They have a mini refrigerator in the room packed with drinks and goodies (extra cost). —The WiFi was just OK (low bandwidth issue?) Could not video conference for whatever the reason. —The containers in the shower for shampoo and body wash were empty (I like my own shampoo anyway, and prefer soap bars which were provided).

Standards of a 4 star hotel should have been better; not a 4 star hotel as it says it is. Value for money and the rooms needed to match.

The location was good — in Banani, near Gulshan, so with several restaurant and coffee shop options nearby. The staff were generally polite, especially the guards, etc. The hotel describes itself on Booking as non-smoking, with designated smoking areas. When I came to the hotel, I realized that there is cigarette smoke *everywhere* — they claimed that I did not ask to be put in a non-smoking room, although that is how they described the hotel themselves. I also heard them explicitly tell another guest that this is a non-smoking hotel. Also, very upsetting that they don't see it as their responsibility to ask during check-in, if they are going to be letting everyone smoke. (The windows do not open, by the way). Terrible experience and every morning I woke up with a headache. All my clothes smell like cigarettes.
