This hostel was an excellent choice for me on my ruta de los volcanes hike - just a 6 km easy decent from the trail. The hostel is situated in old historic building and has chill vibes and good charm. The facilities are a bit worn out but everything functions well. There is a big kitchen, free coffee and tea, which is always a nice touch and one less thing to worry about. My two floor dorm bed was a bit loud and wobbly. It took some time to get used to it, but after that I slept ok.

Fantastic and super friendly staff. Paulina made my day, she really needs a rise ?We watched footie together and it was a blast. Excellent location, a few steps away from the bus stop. Comfy bed. Spacious showers. Free coffee. Most of all, flexibility. I could leave my stuff and go on the Volcano Trail just with water and snacks, only to pick up my belongings on return. Everyone I talked to there seemed friendly and chilled. -

Room was ok Very nice rooftop terrace Bog cockroach in the room. Materssses were not comfortable Can imagine better spent 36 eur for one night accomodation on the island

Very nice old building with great views from the rooftop terrace. Individual bohemian kind of style, I personally liked it a lot, you don't find that very often. The location is very good in the old centre. Cleanliness in the bedroom and bathrooms was good (did not use the kitchen). The beds are simply not suitable for a hostel, not uncomfortable in any way but the amount of noise they make even at the slightest movement is crazy and a lot of noise is really what you want to avoid in a dorm room. Some sturdy wooden bunk beds would be the solution.

I've been to almost all the hostels on the island and this is BY FAR the one I enjoyed most. Largely thanks to the colorful, diverse and friendly bunch that it succeeds at attracting, and to the fantastic work of a team of volunteers (Mel, Santiago, Paulina, Sofia and Stella) who will go out of their way to make you feel immediately at home and take care of the premises and guests in a very professional way. The kitchen is well equipped and the design of the common areas encourages mingling among guests. The rooftop terrace is amazing! And so is the location, right at the center of the island, next to an extremely well-stocked supermarket, close to the bus stop and at walking distance from several trailheads heading into the national park. The building is an old-fashioned traditional house which has its charm, however the hostel could use some renovation to further improve guests' experience. Some minor observations: squeaky floor (tried my best not to wake others up when coming in late at night or walking out early in the morning, yet every step was like an announcement hehe), and the doors of the dorm I stayed in wouldn't close properly (that would also help with heating efficiency so probably an investment worth making). The bunk beds are also a bit noisy and unstable to climb on. 2 of the 3 bathrooms available are reeeeeally small but they do the job. Areas for improvement for an already great hostel! Keep up the good work!
