Quiet and private. The room we stayed at really made the difference. Perfect for a weekend getaway with your partner.

Beautiful property the room was cozy and spacious

They did tell us valet parking was included and charged us. Ultimately, the hotel credited the charge. The fireplace in the room did make us all smell of smoke as it did not ventilate properly. The items at the hotel were extremely expensive. The food experience was sub par as the wine wasn't explained or paired well with the food. The food was also repetitive. For the cost, it was not a chef experience.

From the moment we arrived, Banyan Tree Veya offered a perfect blend of serenity, luxury, and thoughtful hospitality. The resort is beautifully designed, with lush surroundings and a calming atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. I cannot stress how helpful and friendly everyone working at the resort was, from the team at reception to housekeeping. Breakfast was a daily delight, not only huge but absolutely delicious. The variety and quality were outstanding, with something to satisfy every craving. And a huge plus, it is served until 12pm every day, so no early morning rush! The spa was exceptional. Every treatment was delivered with care and expertise we had wraps and massages, leaving us feeling completely relaxed and refreshed. We also enjoyed a complimentary Sound Bath the morning of our Spa Day that really set the tone of relaxation. Dining at the restaurant was consistently excellent. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, making every meal a pleasure. Special thanks to Diageo, our sommelier, whose passion and knowledge made dining experience even better. A real highlight was the visit to the winery, a stunning location (its called Pictogram for a reason!!!) with a fantastic selection of wines grown on site. Daniel, our host, was super. Not only was he beyond knowledgeable about the wines but he was so much fun! Each evening, a custom scent was prepared in our room, adding a personal and luxurious touch that made the stay feel even more special. Getting around the resort was effortless thanks to the golf buggies, which were always available and made exploring the grounds easy and enjoyable. In summary, Banyan Tree Veya is a haven of peace and indulgence. Every detail is carefully considered, and the staff go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. We can’t wait to return! Honestly everything was so great there was nothing we didn't like. If you don't have a car you need to be a little organised if you want to go to dinners off site as Ubers aren't available but even in that circumstance the hotel sorted us out very quickly with a driver!

Property is beautiful, rooms are amazing. Overall nice hotel. Lack of hospitality, the staff are not professional. The information provided and tour was minimal. We had breakfast which they mentioned it opened at 8am, we arrived at 8am and they were setting up the buffet. They told us to come back in 10 minutes we came back at 8:10am and they said sorry they are still setting up. 2 hours late they only had coffee and fruits available, no one came to talk to us or explain anything related to the buffet. We left there upset because the lack of attention, they wanted to charge me even though I had free breakfast. The staff was a rude and careless. The people that drive you around are kind but the receptions and restaurants serves are careless. They are missing staff for the bars and other social gatherings. No one showed us the spa or gym. The pools were super cold, even though they said we can turn it on to make the temperate more approachable. The hotel has so much potential but they are missing hospitality and staff is not trained properly, for the price and what they are charging… not there yet. Can’t say I will come back or recommend due to the issues we faced. Again beautiful property but… the lack of details and staff made it difficult to enjoy certain things.

The architecture and pool area were stunning. The outdoor daybed was a nice touch, and the views and sunsets were beautiful. The resort feels unprepared despite being open for nine months. Staff acknowledged ongoing issues but made little effort to address or compensate for them, worsening the experience. When we voiced our concerns, the manager simply said, "what would you like me to do?" We were offered a free night on a future stay. I don't think this was adequate in any way. Key problems included: - No hot water the first night and no heat in the room for our entire stay. - A constant beeping noise in the bathroom ceiling that couldn’t be turned off. - The plunge pool was cold and had flies. - The area around the rooms smelled like septic, likely from grey water drainage. - Privacy issues: My mother-in-law’s room had a sliding door that wouldn’t close. - Limited transportation: Only three golf carts for the entire property. Wait times for rides were quoted as 10–15 minutes but often took an hour. - Poor accessibility: Dirt roads and steep hills made walking between spaces difficult. When it's raining, it's impossible to move around the property or surrounding area.

For starters the property has potential to beautiful and a hopefully a well ran banyan tree. My experience wasn’t what I expected personally from banyan tree. It’s unfortunate because the property and architecture really is beautiful. Also, some of the staff are absolutely incredible and go above and beyond. Which I guess they have to, to make-up for the poor management and staff who really could not care at all. The spa is beautiful and or will be. It wasn’t done during our stay and we only were able to utilize a few parts of it during our 8 day trip. The rooms are beautiful.. but, our air conditioning went out for two nights in one area of our room. They did comp 1 night but ignored the rest basically and almost didn’t even comp 1 night and tried to offer free breakfast. Which after 8 days you’ll not want the breakfast. Please make sure you rent a car and get out of the hotel! That’s what really made our trip. I can’t imagine being stuck on the property the whole time that is half open. Maybe one day they will be working fully. They really should not be charging those prices for mediocre services. Honestly, the absolute worst was when we were checking out and if I wouldn’t have double checked the bill there was almost $1800 DOLLARS not pesos of charges on my bill unaccounted for nightly stays that were already paid. The “main” manager finally showed up at the end to drive us to our car at the very end of the trip. I guess to save face. I really tried to be understand during my stay but I every time I turned around it was something else that was wrong. Hopefully in a year they will figure it out and I can’t change my review.
