So incredibly peaceful Wifi a bit clumsy for this day and age :)

Beautiful attention to detail. Quiet and peaceful. Very artistic style with antiques and decor. Warm and welcoming.

The property is completely beautiful. Every aspect of the buildings, grounds, pool, and interior design is esthetically coordinated and calm and peaceful. The buildings are set apart, so privacy is guaranteed. Absolutely nothing. It was a 10 out of 10 experience.

Very personal, welcoming, attention to details - fantastic!

The Domaine de Labarthe is one of the beautiful places on this earth, the owners having combined the beauty of southern France and Italy with all the comfort technology can provide. In many decades of travel I have rarely found a place so restful, beautiful and comfortable. Having to leave.

A delightful historic 18th century manor house with beautifully decorated suites. Laurence is an exceptional host who goes out of her way to welcome her guests and provide information about sites and restaurants in the area of Cahors. Nothing

Beautiful decor in historic property with a great attentional to comfort. Patrick the host was utterly charming. Nothing

Your site said they served dinner. They did not and when the owner said she would make me something I was thrilled because I was exhausted from traveling. I had a bowl of vegetable broth soup, 1 sausage and a small salad for dinner and a store bought tarte for dessert. I got the bill in the morning and it was nearly 50 euros! She was not there on checkout when I paid for the dinner and I bought some shower gel. When we walked around, they had wine outside in the fridge. I did not either understand or was told I would be charged by the glass. Listen, I am not cheap and when it is said to you "Help yourself" I understood this to mean the wine came with the purchase of the room, which was near $200/night. I traveled around for the next 10 days, all while receiving numerous emails from the owner. I did not respond because I did not have an international data plan, and the emails continued. Now she has accused me of not paying for the overpriced meal or the bath gel - which was purchased and run with one of the staff. I've stayed in a lot of hotels and have not ever received this type of treatment. Just not satisfied at all.

Delicious breakfast with high quality food served at the terrasse. Very attentive hosts. We enjoyed the well-maintained park and even prepared a meal in the well-equipped outdoor 'summer kitchen' with a good bottle of red wine from the owner the room (chambre prune) was unfortunately somewhat cold and moist in early June. We had to ask for extra blankets, and a small electric heater for the bathroom. The sunbeds in the garden are not any longer particularly comfortable.

The garden was beautifully maintained and charming. The ancient buildings were sympathetically converted. We would definitely return and recommend this property. Our room had everything we needed. Breakfast was good. Nothing.

Where does one begin? The owners, Laurence and Guillaume are a fantastic couple, really lovely, friendly people, who have created this amazing estate. The extent of the grounds is much more than what one sees in the photos. It is so peaceful, quiet and serene. There are so many different sections one can choose to relax in; the pool side, the rose garden, the summer kitchen, meadows, orchard… we stayed in La Garenne gîte, and it was perfect. Our cycles were left out on the terrace of the gîte, which is spacious with a huge parasol, a table and chairs. We had breakfast by the pool three times, and it was such a delightful way to start the day. Three sisters who turn up to look after the rooms, and help with breakfast are all charming young ladies. There is an Intermarché just around the corner, and a brilliant boulangerie in Mércuès just two minutes’ drive away. The location was perfect for cycling. Endless choice of wonderful rides, along or away from the Lot. My favourite ride was to Les Arques, via La Mouline. The scenery is stunningly beautiful, and there is a beautiful tea room there, also a museum showing the works of Ossip Zadki e, who lived there for 30 years. There is also the restaurant La Récréation, reservation essential, which was v good, but the food was a tad too rich for our tastes. Guillaume’s family is in the wine business, he makes his own label, and has connections with the most prestigious Cahors red, the Cahteau Cayx. I bought half a case of Le Majesté, 2014, which is sleeping in a cool place, having a rest after our long drive back, and very much looking forward to sampling a traditional “black Cahors”. Overall, a fantastic place to stay. There is nothing there to dislike.
