Mercure Thalasso and Spa Port Frejus

I know the hotel already from long time, remain for Frjus an atraction. NA

Good location but noisy on road facing side. The full payment deposit plus deposit of €100 has not been repaid yet; a month later I am still owed €276. As a resident I was expecting access to the swimming pool but only paid access was permitted.

Location Room was boiling as heating stuck on, reception apologised and said nobody could look til the next day however I was only staying 1 night! Said speak to reception in the morning. Had to sleep with balcony door open onto noisy road and not feeling very safe. Reception not interested when I discussed checking out. Only 1 lift working for a big hotel. Hotel in general just a bit tired and in need of some attention.

Exceptional

Very convenient location, lovely clean room and staff very friendly The toilet was separate from shower room but didn’t have a wash basin in it so couldn’t wash hands if someone was in the shower.

Quiet, central and clean. Coffee and tea supplied , but no milk. I was told this was only for certain rooms. Pity, I could not have my morning cup of tea. Would be good if hôtel guests who pay 20 euros for use of the pool' were allowed more options for using the pool.

The hotel is in a very good location - next to the port & beach. The staff were very helpful and attended to the concern that we raised The rooms were of good size This is a not a 4 star hotel, more a 2 or 2.5 star. 1) reception lounge - almost all the cushions are soiled. you can find cushions cleaner than them in a bus or a train. No place to sit or relax for a few minutes 2) The aisles to the rooms are dimly lit and the carpet is stained everywhere. Gives you a feel of fleabag hotel 3) The rooms & doors are painted black to hide all the imperfections.There was wood shavings on the floor in-front of the wardrobe, looks like they had done some repair and didn't bother to clean up. 4) The bathroom door was a joke, it was so rotten/swollen it didn't close. Again a 2 star hotel feel. The staff immediately replaced it ...so points to the staff 5) The salt buildup inside the kettle was so thick. 6) the metal threshold at the bathroom door had risen up and i hurt my toes couple of times 7) A pillow case was stained and we had put it on the floor believing it will be replaced. But the room service team put it back on. 8) foul smell near the bathroom/toilet in the night. 9) entrance to the parking area was water logged , very tight spaces to park This is not a 4 star hotel as advertised. You may find hotels with better facilities at similar or lower cost.

Disappointing

The hotel itself, the room is standart, not small at all, the restorant is very nice and the chef menu was great, the personnel on the reception was kind. I did not use the spa. The only minus was that the one of the bed in the room was maybe broken or old, I don't know, but the noise of it was awful. The other one was very comfortable.

Exceptional

Loved the spa! The food was mediocre, our phone didn’t work, and our bathtub was dirty. I didn’t like that when we checked in and immediately informed them that our phone was broken, they were indifferent about it. It’s hard ordering room service without a phone!

pool was nice though there was a lot of unnecessary policing about not allowing men to wear normal trunks and not wearing shoes. The inside of the hotel was dirty and smelt bad, like vinegar and bleach and dirt. The carpet was old and general decoration was outdated.

Location Not a 4 star. 3 at best.
