I was on a business trip and usually camp outdoors for work, but monsoon storms forced me into moving into a hotel. And I wanted to not spend a lot as it's my small business and my expense. So enter this place. It matched my expectations based on other reviews. I was there in summer when I imagine rates are lower than usual, and was really affordable when I was there. Super cheap in fact. I was filming various locations for work, including some local paleontology sites (fossil sites), and this place is a prime location for that, positioned near some world class sites. There is a Dinosaur museum across the street, and Colorado National Monument's Fruita main gate is a couple miles away. It's also near many food options ranging from fast food to some local restaurants. I'd recommend El Tapatio. Just be careful with their margaritas as they were large, and strong. They burnt the throat a little going down (in a good way lol). Also within walking distance of the hotel if you have one too many. But all in all, I'd totally stay here again for the location, convenience, value, and cleanliness.

I’ve stayed at this Super 8 several times in the past 3 years, when I visit the area. It has gone downhill a bit since the first visit. The guy who checked me in wasn’t super helpful or friendly, which was surprising because most staff here have always been nice. The woman working at breakfast time was also kind of grouchy. Neither were rude, but not happy to help. The property and breakfast areas are always clean. I didn’t use the pool. My room was probably the dirtiest I’ve seen in all of my visits here. The carpet had not been vacuumed and was very stained. Not just a few random stains but really bad. There were splatters on the walls, microwave and mirrors. The fridge barely worked on the coldest setting and a previous guest had put something pink and sticky in the freezer section, which was not cleaned. I also found items belonging to the previous guest, and was overlooked by housekeepers. They have also removed the extra table that used to be in the room. Probably trying to make room for bikes or something, but I think it just forces people to put food and stuff on the floor and then spills happen. I’d rather have the table, it still leaves enough room for my bike. I’m not super picky, but I kept coming back here because it was fairly clean for a budget hotel. I have already booked there one more time this year, so I’ll keep that reservation and give it another try. If the price keeps going up and the quality keeps going down, I may have to go back to Horizon Drive.

I travel through Fruita yearly. I usually stay at the LaQuinta Inn but they were $170 cause my stay was on a Friday. Super 8 had $109 per night and I bought the travel insurance for $9.00 for a total of $118 so I booked there. I did mark on my online booking that I would be traveling with my dog. Once I got there I was told there is a $20 fee for my dog and a $30 deposit. I don’t remember ever paying a pet fee of $20 at LaQuinta Inn, and never a $30 deposit. With the fee I paid $138 for my stay, I saved $30 by staying at Super 8. I will not make that mistake again, Super 8 is not worth the money you save compared to LaQuinta or Comfort Inn.

Worked well in a pinch. The room was clean and my family slept well.

The rooms definitely need an update with carpeting that looks like it is from the 70's. We noticed people kind of loitering outside of the hotel that also didn't make us feel the safest. There are also signs posted all around the property inside stating they do not tolerate illegal behavior so it makes you wonder what kind of issues have happened here. The bed wasn't the most comfortable and we did notice some stains on outer blanket. Bathroom was clean and it was a nice hot shower. We used the available laundry and the dryer took 2 full cycles to dry the clothes. The hotel does have a couple of good restaurants right next door so it made it easy to grab some dinner. It is located within minutes of Colorado National Monument which is where we were heading in the morning so that was a positive.

Convenient location and good value. Beds wasn’t comfortable and poor breakfast options.

Very good

AC in first room assigned didn't work. Second room took until 3 in the morning to finally cool the room.

Overall friendly staff. The guy that checked me in at night was a bit weird though. Morning check-in gentleman was helpful and nice. Cleaning staff was nice. Decent breakfast option. Other customers were nice and mostly kept to themselves. No one problematic. Room, bed, and shower felt and looked clean. Some of the lamps were unplugged. Overall, good & affordable pricing and would definitely consider this place if I was ever in Fruita, Colorado again.

It was close to our outdoor activities The AC was not on when we got to the room and it was like 90 degrees in there. It smelled like mold and mildew. There was some trash like soap wrappers left on the floor. There was also a dirty sock hidden under the bed skirt. The carpets were stained and dirty.

I was in #102, a handicap equipped room, which was very clean, well equipped and good AC unit. Continental breakfast was adequate though lacked any meat or eggs (my bias). Good quantity of juice and coffee though. Hotel is close to several restaurants and service stations. Would definitely stay again when in the area.
