Excellent breakfast and dinner, the owners provided us with a top care.

Substantial breakfast with locally sourced products Something odd happened on Booking.com. The owners said that they didn't accept late bookings normally on Tuesdays, but it was available on Booking.com. Slightly confusing. Nevertheless they accommodated us and even provided a late meal on the Tuesday evening, even though they were closed. Lovely people.

The food was exquisite. The proximity to the Hochkar ski areal was an advantage too.

The food was really, really nice, we enjoyed the breakfast and dinner too. There is a ski storage of skis and shoes, which is very useful. The Gasthof is very close to Hochkar if you want to go skiing. We didn't understand why some of the rooms are called apartments if there was no kitchen in the apartments at all. An apartment always includes a kitchen (or kitchenette), so we felt that the name apartment is very confusing. We only found out a few days before leaving that there was no kitchen (or kitchenette). The rooms are small and quite outdated. Before our trip, the communication with the host was very slow and bad. One reason we booked this place was because there was a sauna, but after seeing its location and condition we didn't use it at all.

We were skiing on the Hochkar which is very close by car. The most important for us was ski room and parking which are both in place. Staff was very helpful and kind. Rooms are not big, but completely sufficient. I would recommend to install some better door or some noise canceling, as the noise from the restaurant was hearable in the room. Nothing critical, but it was bit unpleasant.

The place itself is nice and cosy. The family atmosphere runs throughout the inn, accompanied by great meals (both breakfast and dinner as far as we can tell). Location-wise, it is easy to find (right next to a main road) and a ski-bus stop is on the very opposite side of the road. Ideal for spending few days in lower Alps and daily driving to either Hochkar or Ötscher. The beds were too soft, but that's really it.
