Located in the village of Cartmel, Priory Hotel is a newly refurbished hotel with free Wi-Fi. The village, which recently became known as the ‘home to sticky toffee pudding’, is more commonly associated with horse racing. Cartmel Racecourse is just a minute’s walk from the property. Location, perfect for our evening out at L’Enclume. Clean, cosy, great staff. Lovely breakfast. It was too quiet in the breakfast room, a little music would be good.

Very good made-to-order hot breakfast with juice, milk and cereal also available. Very friendly welcoming staff. Excellent central location on the town square and close to restaurants and the Priory Church, a 2-minute walk away. We had a fan in our room, but no air-conditioning. Staff cheerfully helped us with our luggage since our room was on the second floor. Our proprietor helped us find a local taxi that gave us a ride around the local countryside. It was hot and the fans and open window helped, but not as much as air-conditioning would have with the heat. The open windows with no screens allowed more street noise, but it was not too bad. We only had one fly.

Location. Very central. Quirky room and friendly staff, clean. Close to Michelin starred restaurants. Bit expensive but maybe.that is the location.and high season. No on-sie parking but parked at the racecourse nearby.

Location was perfect Breakfast…. Lack of choice for continental Full English was dry and over cooked The manager that came in to the breakfast room was really loud

Lovely pub nice room at the top very clean nicely decorated room and bathroom. Breakfast was nice quite a good menu choice. The only negative which is more a health and safety aspect the shower is over the bath and there is no mat to place in the bath and my husband slipped and fell out the bath onto the floor luckily only bruised and nothing broken so could of been worse I did inform staff of incident
