Location, breakfast excellent, room comfortable and well decorated Shower small and tray had black mould in the seams. Unacceptable for price of room Water pressure low.

We stayed in a Premier double. The room was really beautiful and had its own little terrace. The bed was comfy and the room well appointed, perhaps another easy chair inside would be good if the weather was wet. Bathroom spacious and lovely big bath. Breakfast was delicious and could be eaten inside, or outside in the lovely garden. Lovely large bar area downstairs with lots of comfy sofas. Staff very helpful. The hotel is just down the hill from the centre of the village and hence was very quiet. But only 2 minutes to reach all the shops and cafes. Shower was mouldy around the edges and the shower itself had a tiny head which needed a good scour to improve its flow. The only bit that let the bathroom down, but in my experience showers often let a hotel down a bit.

The reception was warm and friendly. I left my watch in the bedroom and the hotel has kindly sent it on to me at my home. Nothing.

The staff was attentive and was super helpful. The wi-fi connection was not great in the rooms. I had some work so was not the best set up. No other complaints

Location was good, the staff were lovely, parking was free and just in from of the hotel. It wasn't that cheap for what it was and we were charged a lot to have our dogs with us.

Fabulous location and traditional accommodation

staff very kind ! very well located. - ideal for 1 to 2 nights max - the bathroom has no ventilation on it. - the bed is very small, something like 160cm length. - the bathroom sink is made of wood and it’s a mess, all the surrounding is easily wet making the floor a mess also. - the photos on the Booking.com don’t correspond to what the place is in reality / example : no mirror “lake” on the garden. not clear vision on the room you will get when booking the room - the say there’s a parking but not in reality, it’s a public parking in front of the hotel. you will need to be lucky to find a spot and don’t count that you can leave things exposed on the car since your car will be in the street anyways

The room was big, comfy and super clean, staff was very nice and helpful. Great location in the city centre, so very handy to visit the castle and discover the many shops. The room was rather expensive at this time of year and I think it would be great if the rate could include breakfast (quite basic and charged an extra €8). As a city centre hotel, there is no swimming pool, which in a very warm summer can be an issue for some.

The location is right on the fringe of the old town of Grignan, which is about as charming a town as one can imagine in the Drôme department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in southeastern France. The town is like something out of a romance novel, with its hilltop castle and narrow, medieval pedestrian lanes lined with shops (potters, bookmakers, clothing, etc.), and the hotel is decorated to match its charm. Of our 2-week stay in southern France, it was the most attractive hotel by far. Our family of 5 plus dog stayed in rooms 1 and 2, which were large and beautiful furnished. There was a private patio, and those two rooms are set off from the hotel's other rooms for heightened privacy and quiet. The breakfast was typical continental European, but with a much wider selection of jams and some other items not always found at continental breakfasts, and the service was friendly and quick (both of which are rare to find in France). We would recommend staying here as a base to explore the region, as several other towns with castles and several vintner "domaines" lie within easy drive of Grignan. We wished we would have chosen to stay longer, both because of the hotel and the town itself. We would recommend both to anyone. If you do go during the high season like we did (July, August), be sure to reserve all your dinners at your restaurant of choice, even in a small town like Grignan, or you will not likely find seating, especially for families. Even places like pizzerias book all their tables up, so pre-determine your dinner spot by lunchtime and reserve a table for later. Parking is at a public, free parking lot about a block and a half away. But it was not too challenging to reach the hotel, even with a heavy suitcase on wheels, 3 kids and a dog, and the hotel has an elevator for your luggage. The water pressure in the showers could have been better, but they worked fine and the bathrooms are beautifully done. One very minor, unusual thing: The password for the free WiFi is NOT listed in their informational sheets that you will find on the desk, as one normally expects. Instead, it is taped onto the wall-mounted TV monitor (it took us a while to chance upon that). Also, there is a night-time access code that the staff must give you to open the front door after hours, so be sure to ask for that. Overall, the hotel is highly recommendable despite these small points.
