The Schlosshotel Grünwald was built in 1293 as a hunting lodge. As a hotel, it now offers modern rooms and suites which have been finished with light-wood furnishings and bright colors. The restaurant of the Schlosshotel Grünwald features a traditional tiled oven. A variety of Mediterranean-inspired dishes are served here. The terrace is open during the summer, and features wonderful views of the surroundings. Munich is about 7.5 mi north of Grünwald. Höllriegelskreuth S-Bahn (city rail) station is just a 15-minute walk from the hotel. From here, Marienplatz square can be reached directly in 26 minutes.

Welcoming staff ;). Very nice room, lots of space. Walkable to downtown. Good options for breakfast and cooked to order.

Wonderful warm room, we had breakfast and dinner here which were excellent. Short walk to tram stop which takes you into centre of Munich. Stayed here many times and will be back again

You wouldn't expect a good and pleasant hotel so far from the center of Munich, but this experience was so enjoyable that I didn't mind the 40-minute tram ride from the main station. The surroundings are perfect: a great view from the restaurant terrace, calm and cozy accommodations, a nearby riverbank, and forests so massive that you can't help but admire the nature around you. There is no elevator, the rooms and bathrooms are a bit old, and the sheets are a little short, but these details are hardly noticeable, and the atmosphere more than makes up for it.

Very beautiful Hotel a bit outside from the city. Pleasant landscape nearby with lots of cycle paths. Structure is in old and fashionable style with very comfortable rooms. Breakfast rich and tasteful Nothing to remark

Breakfast, friendly staff, nice shower cabin, nice pillows on bed. Ok, I had booked a 'single' room, but the bed was like some cod in an evacuation center. Twin mattress, no fitted sheet, but flat, and since I toss and turn, I ended up laying on the plain mattress within an hour, plus the bed squeaked at every turn I did.
