Good location, friendly staff, clean room. The lobby elevator locations and sign indication is confused. Not enough lighting leads the way.

1) The coach service to the Canton Fair. 2) Prompt housekeeping (cleaning of room). 3) Attentive reception staff. 4) Good elevators. 1. The carpet in the rooms and in the hotel corridors stinks. It is very old, and needs replacement. 2. The shower cubicle door leaks, and the shower water flows into the bathroom floor and wets much of the floor. 3. The buffet breakfast is boring. It has not changed much for so many years (I've been staying at Hotel Canton for about 15 years). The croissants are lousy quality. Not enough fruits variety. Buns and dim sums are poor quality and lack variety. The quality of the coffee beans is poor (too bitter, not sour enough). 4. Bed is hard and stiff (not very comfortable). Does not follow the body contours when lying down. Poor mattress quality. 5. The air-conditioning temperature controls (manual knob-turning type) are not accurate. They are too old. Need to be updated to digital and more accurate temperature control system. 6. Overall, the interior decor and furnishings are looking very outdated and old, as it seems that the hotel has not been renovated for many years already.

The bathroom is not good and moisture smell in the whole room. you could hear the noises of the street from the window it's not sound proof. the ATM on the lobby that allows you to exchange foreign currencies into Yuan doesn't work which makes it impossible to exchange money we had a very bad time even surrounding banks refuses to exchange currencie if you don't have a chinese SIM card.

The breakfast was supposed to be "international" . It was no where near international. The coffee was horrible. The orange juice wasn't juice, it was drink. There were only old fried eggs and no other western choices at all. Horrible really. The staff were polite but the check in and check out procedures were way to lengthy and inquisitive. We won't be staying here next time.
