We loved the breakfast and the onsen. The rooms were also fun and spacious for a family I booked and paid for a room for 3 people, but they made me an additional amount upon check in.

Common areas are spacious, welcoming and great to have just to relax outside of your room. There’s both indoor and outdoor common areas. You need to use stairs to go to floor with onsen. Therefore, my elderly parents were unable to partake in using this facility which was one reason why we booked this place. I did not see any elevator access, nor did I ask.

The hotel has a great location, just a short walk from the train station, making it very convenient. You can also enjoy a sea view. The hotel feels very new and smells fresh. The room is extremely clean. The ice machine is a nice touch — it also works as a water dispenser, offering three options: ice only, water only, or a mix of water and ice. The common area on the second floor is spacious, with plenty of comfortable seating, including an outdoor zone where you can relax. The onsen is excellent. There are several hot baths, a cold bath, and a sauna. The mineral water leaves you feeling very refreshed, and there are plenty of washing stations available, so it never feels crowded. We booked a 21 sqm room, but the layout seems not very well designed, which makes the space feel smaller and there’s no proper space for large luggage.

This resort was super awesome! The 2nd floor had an amazing atmosphere with a cafe. So many areas to sit as well as an outdoor terrace. The onsen was great after a long day of exploring the city. The rooms were spacious and extremely clean. This was one of my favorite places I’ve stayed at on my trips to Japan! I will definitely stay here again if I am in the area. Nothing.

The bathroom has a romantic and classic atmosphere.

The breakfast was, in short, INCREDIBLE! Easily the best hotel buffet breakfast I have had in years.

    No bathtub for the toilet

excellent new hotel, modern design, comfiest beds in japan! the bath (onsen) was extra special & beautiful: and, they did not mind those with tattoos!! just a few minutes walk from the station, and very quite location.

3 minute walk from the Eki. Their breakfast buffet was excellent.

Fabulous breakfast buffet and a 3 minute walk from the Eki.

Clean, modern Room was a little cramped but to be expected for Japan

  • Engine customer Nov 2025

Convenient location and friendly staff. Free tour of the market and neighborhood. Room is little too small. I changed to a bigger and paid extra for it. The room was barely enough for three. The first room did not have enough space for our luggages.

Best breakfast ever. Remarkable. Onsen was wonderful. Staff exemplary. Location perfect Nothing!!! Everything exceeds expectations

  • Engine customer Jul 2025

The staff was young, energetic, and friendly. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, with do-it-yourself donburi bowls and a good variety of local dishes, fesh and fried. The breakfast staff was particularly polite and engaging. The second floor lounge was comfortable and suitable for families with children. We will definitely look for OMO5 locations on future trips. The family-friendly nature of the place meant there were a lot of children, which we weren't expecting on our couple's holiday. Not necessarily a negative, just an observation.

A brand new hotel with good location and nice staff and service. Good breakfast as well. Nevertheless free shuttle for sightseeing. None

  • Engine customer May 2025

    The breakfast is not impressive.

    - Convenient location, only about 3 minutes walk from Hakodate Station and next to huge MaxValu grocery store - Free guest-only sightseeing bus that stops at most popular spots in Hakodate - Beautiful OMO Base/lounge, thoughtfully designed to reflect Hakodate’s fishing culture with unique snacks and souvenirs available for purchase - Modern cashless Electrolux laundry machines (6 wash and 6 dryers total on two floors) - separated which is great so dryers don’t take up a washing machine - Superior Twin Room was a bit small when opening more than one luggage - Shower stall is very cramped - Bathroom design lacks shelving/storage

  • Engine customer Apr 2025

Exceptional breakfast buffet (sweet shrimp, sashimi scallop and salmon for DIY kaisendons) Onsen was a great bonus, the kids loved the common area on Level 2. Staff were friendly, rooms were very clean. It was probably the best hotel we stayed at during our 6 weeks in Japan. Breakfast options were the same everyday which got repetitive and boring

The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the bed in the room was very nice, spacious and comfortable. The staff were all knowledgeable and very helpful especially in the OMO Base Area. The local restaurant guide was so well versed in local restaurants and attractions. She should get a raise. The entire OMO Base area is a treat for the eyes, body, and soul. The hot springs are awesome with plenty of space and a great sauna and cold water conveniently spaced close to one another. I enjoyed the steam sauna, too. A completely different experience from the traditional dry sauna. The view from the room was generally great save for a giant structure on the veranda which obscured the view. It was beautifully designed to reflect the OMO5 pattern. Being able to go out on the veranda in order to take a picture of the mountain was a very nice touch. The elevators were fast and efficient. They immediately tell you which one will come to your floor first so you can line up accordingly. This was very helpful. The Krocs like shoes to been worn all over the hotel were comfortable and nicely designed for even large footed personages as myself. The hot springs bucket was a waterproof silicon. What a great idea! Unfortunately, a few design flaws and lack of the typical giveaways you see at hot springs hotels soured our trip which was supposed to be our Marriage anniversary. First, the number for the Front Desk was not anywhere to be found physically in the room. (#9 on the phone) My wife had to look up the answer in the nether regions of the QR code they gave us to use. It was not located anywhere else physically in the room. What if there was an emergency or something? No one has time to doom scroll after a number so essential to hotels all over the world. Normally at hot springs hotels, you bring your towels to the area from your room. The kind and knowledgeable young gentleman at the Front Desk informed us that there are towels inside the hot springs AFTER you enter. We went there late in the evening and the entry way was darkened and when we entered our respective areas, there were not in fact any towels at all. I redressed and called the front desk with a phone which conveniently had the number for the front desk on it (this was well after we had looked for it earlier) The towels were located in the entry way but it was dark, and the towels were the same color as the enclosure, and played deep inside it, and we were armed with the info that the towels were INSIDE the hot springs. There was no way to get that info to my wife. So, what should have been a wonderful experience was severely soured. She had to undergo the humiliating experience of using the hair dryer to dry her entire body. The hot springs were as comfortable as I mentioned but the outdoor hot springs were rather chilly due to the inclimate weather. The traditional oyukake was a bit small and difficult to use. Now for the OMO Base, which I mentioned before. There are always free ice creams or popsicles when you exit the bath at other hot springs hotels but here there were only paid items.
