Half Moon Bay Lodge

I stay here every time I’m in half Moon Bay, which is once or twice a year. My favorite amenities are the heated pool/hot tub, outdoor fire pit, and free breakfast.

Fitness Center was crowded with 2 people. Sliding doors ricketty

Check in at 4.00 P.M is a little too late as check out is at 11.00 A.M.breakfst lacket any variety of fruit except Bananas.

Property was clean like the rooms swimming pool in the hot tub was nice

This hotel would have merited a 4 or higher if not for the first room we were given. It was unbearably hot because hot water pipes run under the first floor rooms. Even the bed was hot. Nothing would cool it, because the heat radiating from the floor could not, by its nature, be cooled. We had to keep the patio door open all night (an obvious security risk) to get any relief at all. Our particular room, 122, may have been the only one with the heat problem, but travelers should be wary of any room on the ground floor. Though we had been told initially they were too booked to give us another room, the next morning we were able to get a second storey room: a great improvement. The second floor room was comfortable and clean—and cool. The staff were helpful.

Pleasant setting, older hotel with good surrounding, overlooking a golf course (on the other side of the fence. Pool and spa looked nice (although we didn't use them) some outdoor fireplaces and games (corn hole etc were fun). Hotel is older and in the future will need some upgrading, however, we found our stay pleasant and would choose to stay there again.

Only complaint is too many dogs

My only complaint would be that the Keurig machine did not work in our room. It also would’ve been nice if there was a microwave oven. The location was close to beaches and town. Also next door is Half Moon Bay Joe’s which is connected to the Original Joe’s in Westlake, one of my favorite restaurants. That was a little bonus.

We traveled and stayed overnight with my family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) and had plenty of room in the queen suite. The staff was friendly, check-in was easy, and the breakfast was good! The only two negatives were our room was a bit stuffy so sleeping was a little uncomfortable and the walls are a little thin as I could hear the person above us snoring.

We were only here for 1 night but everything was so lovely. Our room was great and the breakfast was good too.

The bed was very comfortable. The room was nice but smelled like a fire place as soon as you opened the door. The screen sliding door on the balcony kept coming off the track. The hotel needs to be updated but still a nice place. The breakfast was really good. We would stay again. FYI, there are no elevators.
