Kim's Family Hotel

Reliable and good communication with friendly staff.

They are very responsive to querries prior to the check-in. Staff are very accommodating, they allowed us to leave our bags when we arrived early and to take the breakfast ahead of time because we will check out early the next day. Its good for solo budget traveler, has basic commodities. Towels are supposedly rented but they offered to us free. If you want to tour in baichay area it is a good place to stay but if your going to tauchau port it is 10-20 minutes ride from there. They also offered different tours in the homestay. Towels should be free.

The hotel has fantastic view. We arrived early, they let us store our things and rented motorbike from them. Price of bike was pricey but we got it almost immediately. We paid for convenience. The room is clean and super spacious. We had good night sleep. Free breakfast was good. None

The owner (Kim) is an absolute legend. He organized a barbecue for us. Absolutely fantastic. He provided a ton of information about what to visit, ferry schedules, places at the Cat Ba island. This place is an absolute must!

Emma and Kim were great hosts offering help with whatever you need everything from booking scooters to day trips and buses to wherever you want to go. They both speak very good English Facilities and room was super clean. I stayed at the building with private rooms and there is a separate building with dormitories. There is a basketball net and a pool table for you to use. I highly recommend this place for short or long term stay. Lots of places to eat within 20 minute walk. Free breakfast was ok for the price of the room, consisting of omelette a bun coffee and piece of fruit, just what I needed. Nothing

We had the feeling of visiting an old friend’s home. The host was excellent — he helped with everything, provided lots of information, and arranged the necessary local transport and transfer back to Hanoi. Every morning there were simple but good, home-style breakfasts. It should be mentioned that the property is located in two buildings that are 200 m apart. We stayed in the farther one, which is situated on a completely quiet side street. Overall, an excellent property for the price offered.

Nice and cozy place located on a hill. If you ride a motorbike, it’s a perfect choice, but can be hard to walk there every day. The room was clean, beds are soft, they provide us with towels, soap, shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrush. There’s a large tv in the room.

Great room nice, clean and spacious Hosts were lovely and helpful - organised a great tour round the bay for us Only issue was it was a bit out the way - 10 minute walk uphill from main restaurants/bars of the area

Our stay at Kim‘s family hotel was really amazing! We stayed only one night, but Emma was so super welcoming, the room was clean, scented very nicely and the breakfast was simple, but very delicious! Emma booked a cruise daytrip for us, and also a bus to Ha Giang to do the Ha Giang Loop, all of these activities were really incredible! Our cruiseship arrived a little late so Emma arranged everything for us (brought luggage and drivers) to catch the bus in time. Really great experience, I can 100% recommend this place to anyone!!

Really comfy bed and great air con, quiet but cooling. There were a few marks on the bed and a few ants appeared, but having told the reception it was cleaned up promptly and no further issues

We saw 2 bugs in the room during our stay. The sheet is very light so it can get a little chilly at night.

Close to town and nice staff. We also had a room with a large window and it was very spacious which was great.

The lady at the front desk really helps me out through the whole process from booking one day trip in Ha Long bay to bus ticket back to Ha Noi. We used google translate to do everything. She was so attentive and fast. The room was spacious and clean and the bathroom was probably the cleanest one I have ever seen in Vietnam. With the price I paid I'm more than just satisfying. Location is in the center you get lots of food choices and mini marts. Comfy bed and warm room in cold winter. If I ever come back again I will definitely choose Tom's family hotel for sure. Nothing really.
