Raphael Hotel Wälderhaus is located in the Wilhelmsburg district of Hamburg, directly at the former entrance to the International Garden Show. Very Friendly staff at the frontdesk. No coffee in the rooms or in the lobby. I didn’t want to have breakfast, just coffee. Had to pay a 3.50 Euro for a single cup and no possibility for refills. Seems like the restaurant is a total different entity than the rest of the hotel and their collaboration seems bad.

I really appreciated the eco-friendly concept and the unique wooden architecture of the hotel. The room was very clean, quiet, and comfortable, which provided a great environment to rest after busy days. Its location in Wilhelmsburg was also extremely convenient for our professional visits. Furthermore, the staff was always polite, professional, and helpful. There was nothing significant that I disliked. Overall, it was a very pleasant and smooth stay. Everything met our expectations.

The staff were very kind, the design is cool, gift shop had nice products, breakfast was delicious and fresh. Convenient check in and out, very clean rooms. Location near a train station was convenient. Also the room was cleaned, event hough we left late for our day. And : generous check out time at twelve! There is, unfortunately, a big ventilation problem. As we were there in May, the weather wasn't yet so hot, but we were located on the north side, so we didn't get as much direct sun, and never the less the room was a bit stuffy. I can imagine it being an issue when the room is located differently or when it's summer. Part of the issue is that the windows barely open. Another problem is that the bathroom door is a slide door that doesn't seal the bathroom completely. Apart from the fact that it's not very romantic (...) it's also creating more stuffiness in the room. The beds and pillows were not very comfortable for me, but that's a question of taste. It also sucks there is no one double bed but two single beds combined. Lastly, it would have been nice to add a coffee machine in the lobby or a little bar that operates when the restaurant is closed.

Lovely staff and hotel No tea facilities in the room, the hair dryer was absolutely useless. Overpriced breakfast, so we didn't book it.
