On one of the main streets. Closed to local shopping, restaurants which were 1 street behind us. 2mins walk to large indoor shopping centre (Vincome Ba trieu) . I used to be local and rather stay out of the French old quarter (which not far from walking really but 6-seat taxi costs $2-$5 for a family of 4 adults and 1 baby with stroller was not a big deal in the heat ). Beds were surprisingly comfortable. Water bottles provided daily. Breakfast was good, nothing fancy with home-cook Vietnamese soups, local bakery, fruits, yogurts/ tea&coffee Rooms/washroom were outdated. They tend to open every room’s front door. Lots of mosquitos . I was given a room with heavy UNBEARABLE CIGARETTE SMOKE. We checked in late over midnight as our flight got delayed so they gave me a temporary room in the back with defected shower and smelly washroom which we really didn’t care at this point. The receptionist didn’t admit that was cigarette smoke which was really disappointed. I didn’t want to argue but felt like we made up the story. New Bedsheets /opened bag of new towels were stored on opened shelves on the stairs or thrown right on the walkway floor which I really concerned about the sanity. Thank God for the Elevator, works but old & slow.
