De Syloia Hotel

Our room looked EXACTLY like the online photos omgg! What a beautiful hotel!!! The staff, the breakfast buffet, the views from our room, the jacuzzi bathtub, the welcome passion fruit juice, omgggg the hotel was literally a dream!!!

No decent rooftop bar space

The property is exactly as pictured and described. Highly recommend if staying in the French Quarter. Both location and service are excellent. N/A

Staff is wonderful and very helpful. Rooms were very nice and clean. Location is excellent. The Heating and air conditioning didn't work very well. The room was initially very cold and adjusting the thermostat had no effect. When I asked the desk to help, they had maintenance switch it to heating and then the room was then way too hot and we couldn't cool it down.

Staff very professional, knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel. Amazing front-desk staff.

A special thank you to the staff, especially Ngoc and Nam, for their kindness and care — they made our stay especially comfortable and memorable. The shower fixtures are a bit unusual, but it’s not a critical downside.

I loved the size of the rooms, the thoughtfulness of the staff (they helped me with multiple specific requests), and the location (it was further out but in a more peaceful area). N/A

Noise at the morning

It's a precious lovely quaint yet in the midst of a city hotel. It's really the best at being that. The restaurant is also well known for it's quality. All great !

I used to stay at the DeSyloia for work more than 10 years ago, so it was lovely to be back. The property was renovated just a few years ago; the rooms are modern and updated while retaining their old-world charm. Highlights: Fresh fruit everyday in the room; super friendly staff (shout out to Pham Hoang Nam and Do Duc Dung, but really, everyone was lovely!); clean and comfy rooms; location -- walking distance to the Opera House and Hoan Kiem lake, but in a quieter part of town (lots of embassies in the area) with many cafes and restaurants; hotel restaurant feels like an institution P.S. I didn't get to use the facilities on the top floor (gym, sauna, etc.), so I can't give thorough reviews on these Things to consider for improvement: 1. Ergonomic pillow options would be very much appreciated! 2. Cappuccino was a bit too milky (Americano was decent, though) 3. Strawberry or apricot jam at breakfast? Or honey! ^ As you can see, these request are super small / specific -- overall, it's really quite good!

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Always smiling and welcoming. I asked them to help me hide the cake as a surprise for my friend. They are very lovely and actively support. I like the hotel's location, it is not far from everything and quiet at night. The room was good! I had a comfortable sleep on their bed. They had a good breakfast too. I love their chicken pho

Beautiful, comfortable room with a nice view! I stayed here for 5 nights towards the end of a long 3 week trip in Vietnam and it was the perfect place to rest while still getting a chance to join tours and go sightseeing. Location was a little out of the way for tour pickup but I had no issues with asking them to make an exception because the hotel was still so close to the city center. And since it was out of the way, it was nice and quiet in the evenings. I also appreciated that the hotel overall was actually fairly small, and the building has some old charm to it. But aside from the room being a little sanctuary to recoup before continuing to travel for another 3 weeks, the shining star of my stay was the lovely staff! They are so kind, and made an effort to recognize and get to know their guests. They were very helpful about making calls when I ran into miscellaneous issues - my Grab driver not ending my ride before driving away, my hotel in Sapa not responding about transportation from the train station. They also let me store my main luggage with them for a few days while I took a quick trip to Sapa before returning to stay with them for one last night. Nothing :)

Our room was really nice, spacious and clean. The seating area with floor to ceiling windows brightened up the room and also made it feel bigger. The bed was one the most comfortable from our two weeks in Vietnam. Loved the deep bathtub and fresh smelling toiletries, the fluffy bathrobes were a nice touch. Breakfast was excellent, many choices of local and western food. Fresh fruit, pastries and cooked to order eggs were appreciated. The best hotel out of our two time stay in Hanoi, highly recommend it for the great service and wonderful property.

Superb

As requested we were given a room with a standalone bathtub which I loved! I also enjoyed having a corner sofa with a stunning view. Everything was perfect. I already left another review recently. Nothing to add ❤️

We initially planned to stay for just two nights, but after seeing our room, we immediately decided to extend our stay for another night. The hotel is stunning, with a beautiful French aesthetic and colonial design. The staff is incredible and very attentive. One young man (unfortunately, I didn’t catch his name) was especially helpful - he assisted with reception and luggage and went out of his way to ensure we stayed in the same room, even though the hotel was fully booked. The breakfast is varied and delicious, and the location is perfect - peaceful yet right in the heart of the city, away from the noise. We also loved the complimentary herbal bath, as well as the steam and sauna rooms. The hotel features a lovely sky bar with a complimentary drink, and fresh fruit was delivered to our room every day! ? - The only minor downside - the handheld showerhead was a bit short, and although the overhead shower worked, the water pressure was a little weak - it’s the one thing that could be improved. Spoiler: After our trip to Sapa, we returned to this hotel for another night.

Great location, lovely walk by lake to old quarter or grab a taxi! Great choices for breakfast and brilliant coffees made to order! Staff exceptional! Room very clean, spacious and quiet. Gym overlooking the street. Lots of lovely restaurants nearby Nothing
