Loved the buildings character and lots of space outside for the children to run around.

Location, restaurant/bar, the building and adjacent area, hiking trails' variety and description in the hostel. The dorm had just one other person , and that was a pleasant surprise! Absence of TV at least in the communal places. Absence of Wi-Fi in the room. Absence of towels.

Location, toilets are fine. No fans in the room, it was too hot for the Summer. The shower room was too smelly.

Very affordable. Most affordable place I stayed during my trip. Limited food choices in the village. Reserve ahead if you want to eat at the pub. No laundry facilities available.

Beautiful location, friendly staff, super peaceful, amazing walks on the doorstep, cosy cafe and lounges, warm and comfy rooms. Had a great night :)

Beautiful old building and grounds Our room was in the barn and it was really not nice. It felt very old and dirty. I didn’t want to take my shoes off because the carpet was so gross. The bathroom was also gross. We have stayed at much nicer YHA hostels (that we absolutely loved) so I was surprised at the room condition of this particular property. We love staying at YHA hostels but we will not be returning to this one.

Great facilities. Lots of shared space. Great friendly staff. The people in the next room.Too noisy

Country house atmosphere. Very helpful staff. Well organised. Room (at top of house) was stuffy and too hot. Long wait for service at dinner but that would be explained by an excessive demand at the time.

Wonderful location & a beautiful building. Stayed in a 3 bedded dorm with facilities & it was such fantastic value. Food was decent, had breakfast & evening meal. The pasta was delicious. Would definitely stay again. Nothing

First of all the building and the territory were amazing in a quiet location where you can enjoy peace. There's a beautiful garden with nice trees and trimmed grass that blend in perfectly with the historical look of the building. Hat off for the staff as they did everything they could to make the stay as enjoyable as possible. Great place for a solo traveler as I were or couples/groups, I have noticed that everyone was enjoying their time while being there. Thanks a lot to all involved and hope to experience my next YHA as soon as possible.

The staff is friendly. Food was good. I like their smoothies and Frappuccino! Communal space is really nice to chill at. Toilet is sparkling clean. Parking is limited on site but you still can park on the road side. 4 mins walk to Hartington town.

From start to finish, the youth hostel service was exceptional. Marta, the manager, runs an exceedingly well managed business, ensuring that all her staff and guests are well looked after. In all my years travelling , I have never felt so welcomed by the wonderful staff that run the business and the management. People working here are truly a credit to the YHA as well as the charity work, helping children who would otherwise not be able to afford a holiday stay here. I would encourage all guests to be the spend a bit of time learning about the charity and the good work YHA does, as well as the excellent charity shop and other amenities. Also , the people of Hartington are lovely, and the shops and customer service in the village are exceptional. N/a

Lovely facility, great staff and quite an amazing building. They should clearly mention some rooms don't have wifi. I was there for work and I would not have booked if I had known there is no network.
