Boutique Hotel Heidelberg Suites

Alex was an exceptional receptionist and assisted us with many things. I thank him kindly. He is a real asset to the hotel. Also, the man from Tunisia was also wonderful in assisting us. I have two complaints-the first is in regard to the shower in the bathtub. It was exceedingly difficult to enter and get out of the tub and very slippery. This is a dangerous situation. The second really has nothing to do,with the hotel but rather the boat Patria. I had reserved dinner for my last evening on the boat three months ago. No one ever told us that this reservation would not be honored. after I had gotten dressed and appeared at the reception at 7, I was told by the gentleman on duty that the boat was being used for a private party that evening. No one ever contacted me to tell me about this situation. I really was dumbfounded as I had never had a situation like this before. See above

Everything except the lack of on-site parking. Beautiful property, incredible location on the river with a view of the castle, exceptionally friendly staff, wonderful breakfasts. Good sized, comfortable room with excellent air conditioning. Met some very nice guests. It is on a street with no parking. Nearest parking garage was .7 miles (about a kilometer) away. Not a big deal If you don’t expect to access your car often during your stay. But it was a long walk in 95F weather! In truth the property should make this clear to potential guests.

Room had a simple, understated decor. Clean lines, colour accents. Simply a pleasant place to spend the evening. Close enough to walk to old town.

This is my 3rd stay here, the property is beautiful so much attention to detail. The staff is warm and welcoming and the bathrobe is the best!

The wifi did not work. That was really bad. The first morning of my stay, a handyman installed a new modem but that barely worked as well. I could not take a shower because I could not find the bathtub to shower switch (hidden behind the bathwater turn) and even after learning about the function, the handheld shower would not work independently of a huge rainwater shower. Most women hate those because they have to dry their hair again. So, no wifi and no shower throughout my stay, not good.

Very good location and great breakfast Wi-Fi didn’t work properly, the room door couldn’t be locked, ringing late at night and in the morning

The location

There is some issue with the mattresses, I think it is time to replace them. But the major issue is the parking, we were notified couple of hours before our arrival that there is no parking space and we had to park one kilometer from the hotel, and walk in freezing cold weather.

The property was very nice including our room’s decor. Bed was very comfortable and we had a nice view. BEAUTIFUL HOTEL, GREAT ROOM- EXCEPT our room (#25) which was a room off the main building in an older (100 year old) building. Inside the bathroom, which had been renovated/ modernized, there was the most UNBELIEVABLE STENCH coming from the bathroom. It seemed most concentrated in that area. So strong, in fact, we both got headaches and still feel sick at our stomachs a day later. What could the source of the UNGODLY stench have been? The concierge mentioned former tenants on a lower floor having plumbing/pipe issues years before (not sure if this is the case), and we thought maybe a gas leak?, the maid came and tried to remedy the smells with spray, just made it worse and more sickening with a sweet smell over a sewagey smell. I'm still smelling the putrid smell in my mind and feel like it's permeated my clothes. We were on the top floor of that building. There is definitely a piping/plumbing issue that needs to be addressed.

The sofa in our suite plus a few of the upholstered chairs in their front breakfast area need re-cushioning or refreshing altogether - Their seat cushions allowed u to sink in the middle. Not too comfy, but also not the case for every chair.

wifi is extremely weak - bed was a little sunken.

Just across the bridge from old town and absolutely beautiful place to stay. Their restaurant boat on the river was magical when during dinner the boat left dock and went up and down river giving us a different view from the river. Can’t think of anything that would have made the experience better.
