The second dinner by the sous-chef was all over the place. It didn't have the same coherent feel. My daughter is a vegetarian, I gladly paid extra for her meals but she had so little protein in this meal she was actually hungry after dinner which seems impossible. The dishes in her meal were without change the were almost all the same. It was one meal but after the first amazing dinner on the previous night. This was very disappointing.

Unmatched hospitality. We felt warmly welcome from our arrival until long after we had left. Unique food and a comfortable room as well. Wish we could have stayed a couple of nights! Not all the food was to our fancy, but it was fun to try it and be a bit out of our comfort zone.

This is an experience, not just a hotel. The staff, room, and dining was perfect. Our dinners and breakfasts were some of the best we had while in Japan. No issues with the stay.

The whole experience from as soon as we entered into the property to leaving was great. There’s so much on the property to experience, including two onsens and a private one (if you book that room). Dinner was great and service was amazing. Definitely different food from the western palate. Overall it was a really great stay Nothing

Love this traditional ryokan. The Staff was absolutely fantastic. The place is filled with tranquil spirit and thoughtful touches all around. I have no regret booking this place. The location is also beautiful and you can walk around to see traditional temples and houses. Nothing! Absolutely outstanding!

This is an incredibly special place. Every inch is meticulously designed to create a beautiful and serene atmosphere. The baths were really lovely, both the large indoor-outdoor one and the smaller indoor one that you can also reserve for private use. Nothing

Amazing place! Staff was so nice and welcoming, food was phenomenal and the onsen was a such great place to relax and hang out. We also left a pouch in our room and they immediately sent it to our next hotel. Can highly recommend Nothing

Everything. A beautiful inn. Everything perspective provided a new joy. The room was stunning, the service attentive and welcoming and the food was the best I’ve had in Japan. It was good we stayed here towards the end of our visit to Japan because I doubt anything will top it and all other accommodations pale in comparison. Extraordinary. Nothing

The food is amazing, the staffs are so friendly, and the decoration is too pretty to behold. This is one of the best ryokans I've visited in Japan (and I've been to 5-6 of it). Definitely the experience for foreigners who want to experience this type of accommodation

This was probably the most exquisite stay I ever had in Japan. Everything, from the building, decor, onsen, garden, to bespoke dinner, staff and surrounding areas were fabulous. Anyone who is looking to experience authentic Japanese hospitality, would not be disappointed! Nothing, all just perfect

Incredible food. It was the best food we had during our entire trip. The staff were so welcoming and hospitable. The hot spring was also lovely. I liked everything it was such a historical property and made you feel like you travel back in time.

Upon our arrival, everyone was hospitable and friendly. The service was seamless. The room that we stayed in is called the Seika Room. The view was very peaceful and beautiful. We could hear the water flowing from the Araki river from our room when we opened the windows. The suite we booked was very spacious. The bathroom with the private bathtub and continuous hot water from the natural springs was the highlight of our relaxing visit. The dinner and breakfast were simply lovely!! Using local ingredients from the area. Cannot wait to be back. n/a, the staff was very hospitable and accommodating.

This is a fabulous riokan. Our hostess is the 9th generation of proprietors. Everything is so tasteful and done with tremendous care. I have tears in my eyes as I think about leaving.

Everything is amazing. The food is an experience we will never forget.
