Photos of the room and actual view are the same as shown. Liked its location and the view. Onsen water is wonderful. Nothing in particular

Lovely stay!

The choice of breakfast was limited to a traditional Japanese breakfast which was ok for an experience but not what we would eat every day The state of the bathroom and onsen bath was very dirty and all needed repairing and renovation, definitely didn’t match the price of the room

The room was extremely upset. There was a very strong smell of mold in the bedroom which last for our entire stay. The entire room including interior are decrepit and the windows are crumbling. So that we could sleep all night due to the wind and noise. And the room is not clean at all full of dust and stains everywhere. Very disappointed. Strongly NO GO!

The hotel is at the top of one of the many hills which Izu Atagawa has. The room is exactly the same as it appears on the photos. The beds are futon style which suits people who like hard beds like me. The onsets are amazing and they have also private Onsens. All hot water taps run straight from the Onsen so it takes about 10 minutes for the water to get hot. You just need to be organised and run the taps with plenty of time. They have a spa massage facility with amazing massages. Izu Atagawa is a place for relaxing and for those who like nature and small coastal villages. It is extremely well connected with trains which run often to all the places along the East Izu Peninsula coast. The hotel is very close to the station and they run minibuses to the station too if you don’t fancy going down the big hill. The hotel has various restaurants where to eat which is not included on the basic rate and the food is Japanese. There are no any other options. The Onsens do not allow tattoos so you have to book a private Onsen if you want to enjoy the hot spring waters or just run your bath tub since it has the same water too. However, it is a pity you don’t get to enjoy the Onsen experience because of how strict they are with the tattoo policy even if you are a foreigner. The hotel has been built on over the years so it has added on parts which makes it rather confusing with lifts and having to go to the different parts of the hotel. If you have mobility issues, the hotel is at the top of hill and the only way around would be car or taxi. It is a shame that being in such an amazing Geo point, there aren’t that many paths to be able to trek along the coast and hills. You can walk along certain points of the coast but there are many times you need to take the train or a car.

The facilities are the best, they have many type of Onsen for your experience. One of their receptionist is not friendly when I cannot communicate to them in Japanese.

Beautiful rooms (disability friendly) with a view of the ocean. Professional, friendly staff that can also speak English. There is a 24hr small self-service convenience store in the hotel, and a FamilyMart right across the street. Look for the special passage where you can cross safely under the busy street. Ample parking available. It takes a very long time for the hot water in the shower to heat up - you need to keep the water running for almost 10 minutes before noticing a temperature change. Once the water is warm the temperature is stable and there are no further problems.

Good location We found a cockroach in our room, which one of the staff members dealt with using some sort of sprayed pesticide. When we asked about the possibility of changing rooms, the front desk told us that we would have to pay additional fees to change, but the room would be a "beautiful" upgrade. After discussing this with the manager, they agreed to let us change for free. When checking out the "upgraded" room, we learned that it was much smaller than our original room and was a strict downgrade. This service was incredibly disappointing and felt like a scam attempt based on our concerns about the cleanliness of our original room. The bathroom and shower system in our original room were both heavily dated as well.

The ryokan is located in a quaint little onsen town, quite like how quiet it gets. The large variety of onsens available on site were excellent, room was very comfortable, view of the sea was great. Some of the appliances were showing its age, though admittedly they were still in excellent condition.

the hotel is very nice, it is a pity that we didn't have dinner and breakfast. The staff in the lobby are excellent, though they are not good in English. i would like to visit next time and stay longer.

The spa was fantastic! Indoor / outdoor facilities. Sauna, several mineral pools, beautiful view. Get the breakfast! It was delicious and served in a quaint tatami mat, private room with a heater at our feet. Really beautiful and a highlight of our trip. The double room was huge and SO comfortable. Floor to ceiling windows with ocean view. You basically live in the robes and jackets and slippers in the hotel. There was a van waiting at the train station to bring us up to the hotel (at the top of the hill)...very convenient and we did not even know about it! Loved the whole experience of this Onsen hotel! The bathtub in the room needs updating, but we were in the spa morning and evening, so we used facilities down there. The rooftop spa was closed because it was raining, but heard from another guest it is very cool. Also, the town itself is tiny, and although there is a beach, the building down there have seen better days. I think the pandemic hit Atagawa hard.

onsen and view, service is warm facilities are old

nice stay- beautiful view

Large rooms divided in different ambients according the tradition. Onsen not too much crowded and the rooftop ofuro was very suggestive. Super kind staff always ready to satisfy customers requests. Old building that needs an urgent reformation. Too many stairs and mono thematic restaurants
