Hotel Monterey Himeji

Clean, convenient location, very pleasant staff No complaints, just a heads up that the bathroom is small and a large person might find it cozy

Great location next to the trainstation and only 20 minutes walk to the castle. Good rooms and lovely spa!

Our room very comfortable and the location is perfect. I am not a breakfast person but I did enjoy that Starbucks coffee shop is near by with lots of options. There's nothing not to like about the hotel. I believe Hotel Monterey Himeji will be able to fill all your expectations.

Excellent experience. The property is modern and very secure. Parking is onsite for 1000 Yen for the night. The breakfast was exceptional. So many different choices including fresh fruit… pineapples and oranges. Even an ice cream machine! I was able to check if the onsen was busy from my room. Wish I could have stayed more nights. Nothing.

Everything Nothing

The breakfast buffet was top notch and a great healthy start to our day. Room size was average for a family of three but there were multiple onsite bathrooms when we needed more than one or some privacy. Right next to the train station. Would stay again. Nothing.

Lovely hotel Across the street from the train station and easy access to many restaurants and shopping. 15 minute walk to the castle. Staff very courteous. The breakfast had many delicious choices and the view from the breakfast area on the 14th floor was stunning of the castle and the mountains. Room was a little narrow between beds and wall/desk/chair if you have more than two people and their backpacks and rolling carryons etc.

Location, rooms, and building interior was beautiful. Staff were professional and helpful. The bathroom began to smell like sewage in the morning after our first night.

The location. The room was comfy and clean.

Great location and very close to all of the major train lines. Restaurants were varied and plentiful and shopping nearby as well. The rooms were very small and it was tight quarters to eat in the room. So we tried to eat a snack in the lobby area where there were tables and chairs and we were told that it wasn’t allowed. We weren’t having a full-blown picnic or anything large or messy but rules are rules. Disappointing but would look for larger rooms as they were small for two people plus two small suitcases.

The location next to Himeji station is excellent. Everything you might need shopping wise is loacted there. Grocery, Convinience, Department stores and restaurants. Himeji Castle is within walikng distance. Toliet bowls could have used a little mildew remover spray. Nothing major, just a little suprised relitive to how clean everything else is.

Hotel Monterey: Staff, Parking, Room, Bed, Location, all scored high, all points above average. Himeji itself is a wonderful place to visit with large list of activities, sites, and restaurants to enjoy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found nothing wanting. Only suggestion would be the addition of complimentary water alongside the coffee service which is provided in the lobby from 06:00 to 20:00."

This Hotel is absolutely gorgeous and the location is close to Himeji Station, a wide variety of restaurants, and plenty of shopping. We could even see Himeji-Jo ( Himeji Castle) from our room. The room is spacious with comfortable beds and a nice deep tub for soaking after long days of exploring this prefecture. There is also a spa/ bath on the 4th floor for guests though we did not visit this as we have tattoos . ( this was not a problem as we were aware of the policy prior to booking and the tub in our room was perfect for our needs) The decor throughout the hotel is beautiful and the customer service is absolutely fantastic. We will definitely stay again on our next trip to Japan!
