Nice staff, clean bathroom, comfortable bed in dorm with light and hooks for clothing and good locker for each bed.

The location Very disappointing experience. Joy Hostel was a really bad experience for me. Even though I told them I was very sick having temperature, the owner was not helpful at all. There was an empty room available upstairs, but instead of helping, the owner tried to charge me more money. One of the staff members said it would be 20,000 VND, but the owner suddenly increased it to 40,000 VND and clearly they were taking advantage of the situation. I only needed the room for about 8 hours and planned to check out at 5 a.m., yet they still insisted I had to pay an extra 40,000 VND or they wouldn’t arrange the room at all. While one staff member tried to help, the owner was completely uncooperative. Shame on this person, he/she is in this business. The rooms smell bad, people snore loudly, the bed quality is very poor, you could see through everything from the curtains and there is almost no proper lighting in the room. The stairs are extremely narrow and uncomfortable. Overall, I felt there was a serious lack of basic hospitality and care toward guests. I would not recommend this place to anyone!!!!

Very solid bunk beds, with curtains for privacy, lamp, shelf and plug. Great cool temperature (AC) in the dorm all day, so sleeping was very pleasant. Located in the heart of the backpacker area.

Location is super central. It is easy to walk to most of the sights. Bed was comfy and shared bathroom was clean. Staircase is pretty narrow and steep. Was not a problem for us but might worth a mention.

Good location,quiet, comfortable bed So tiny room with 4 beds, no window, dirty under the bed where to keep backpacks and personal stuff. Not easy to find hostel, can't use kitchen.

The staff are very welcoming and friendly, the location is great but also very quiet at night time. There was no lift, and also the lights from the hallway were kept on which meant our room was light for the entirety of our stay which made it a little difficult to get to sleep.

Lady at reception was very friendly and helpful we spoke through google translate. Bed was comfortable. WiFi provided. Handy space to stay in for a night or two. Property was okay to stay at, however as a solo female traveller I felt unsafe as some of the security measures were very poor. Location of hostel was in an alleyway which I found hard to find - there is one small barely flashing sign outside and I had to ask a local person for help. Located around the corner from Bui Vien walking street and the outside street to the hostel was very crazy at nighttime which I personally didn’t feel safe being near. I was provided a small lock to use on the locker space under bunks for storing my belongings but felt it was not durable enough and did not feel my belongings would be safe there (especially after reading some of the google reviews about money being taken from them). Also I was not given a key to lock the room after leaving - the staff kindly offered that I could hold onto the one room key she held at the reception and I could return it to her after use. This was kind to offer however I felt this could become challenging if there were other guests in the room.
