The staff was very nice and welcoming, private bathroom and kitchen are appreciated. Hygiene was not the best.

Free social programs, so unique hostel. The staff was super kind. Wifi did no work at all.

Great place for backpackers. Good vibe. Terrible place for families. Rooms smells with marihuana, loud night parties. Bum's area next to the hotel.

Honestly one of the best places I've stayed at. Just before this place, I stayed at another hostel and the difference was stark, specially in the cleanliness. Banana bungalow has proper housekeeping services, very friendly staff at reception and tiki garden. I really liked the community events they have every day since I got to enjoy a couple of things. Highly recommended for any travelers. The only thing I didn't like was there were a lot of people smoking there which meant I had to constantly move from one chair to another to avoid the smoke. I think they should have a seperate smoking room instead of allowing smoking in common areas.

I tried to contact them to confirm our booking but they didn't respond. But when we got there, the staff were very nice!! They even gave us an extra towle. We will definitely come back if we are in this area. :)

Friendly staff for check-in and also for breakfast Party & Karaoke night ( until 10&11pm only) during both nights we stayed here. If you like it, this might be a plus.

Location is top notch and people were kind. Breakfast offered are some toasts so if you're a heavy eater like I am, don't consider this breakfast as a fuel for your day.

I booked this room last minute and it saved me so much money. My flight arrived later than expected and I was cutting it close to the check in time before it switched to the next day. The staff were all super friendly and made you feel welcome each day. The location is not ideal, that’s not their fault, lots of homeless people. If you want to save money and stay on Hollywood Blvd close to all the landmarks along there it’s super close to almost all the big Hollywood sites.

It was ok. Just toast, OJ and small packaged muffins. I booked a room with double bunk beds as advertised, so everyone would have there own bed, and it did not come with extra bunk bed, so not enough beds. It was very hot in the rooms and housekeeping never showed up.
