A little parasol of sorts against the afternoon sun on the room balconies at the back would've been nice.

The town of Iglesias is an approximate 2-hour drive from the Sardinian capital on the west coast. The choices are somewhat limited in this town; the reviews of prior guests helped us in our choice. This area of Sardinia is essentially in a state of hibernation in March a non-tourist month on the island. The hotel was built in originally as a private home, owned apparently by lawyers during the heyday of the local mining industry. The property was bought by an interested local investor and lover of Late Broque-Rococo style décor. Legend has it that he scouted through- out Italy for the original furnishing that met his criteria. Be prepared for a visual treat. The floors are of beautiful polished marble, the woodwork throughout is of high quality. Our room’s chandelier was Morano glass…think the Italian version of Tiffany. The ceiling crown molding is real ceramic, a testimony to the high level of detail throughout the hotel. Location allows easy walking to several excellent restaurants (Suggested by the hotel) and to the old town. A grocery store is several blocks away The hotel has small elevator, however, there are some stairs that require navigation. A downside is the weakness of internet connection as noted by prior guests in their reviews. However, when up and working no problems. Be aware of an electrical challenge: The plugs are of the older type (Vertical with a safety component)that requires a special 3-pronge adapter to connect your 2-prong standard plug. The hotel can provide…Just ask. Breakfast consists primarily of the usual suspects, coffee to order, cold cuts, cooked eggs and sausages and several cakes and breads. Disappointed that in a country with so many oranges, the OJ was not the real thing. Covered parking adjacent to the hotel is available. Our bathroom was small but entirely adequate, shower pressure excellent although may take a while for the hot water to water to arrive. Our king bed was firm, but that’s the way we like it. No significant negatives excellent value for your money.

Spaciousness, central location, easy parking

The decor and furniture were nice. Nice breakfast. There was only one electrical socket. The hotel was away from the centre.

Very friendly staff, very good breakfast. My room, 102, had a terrible wifi connection. Just at the door you could get some kinda unreliable internet. Practically no reception on the bed. There was a wifi extender plugged into the wall, but it obviously didn't do anything. They really have to pull some cables and add more access points. The extender isn't helping.

Beautiful decor and an amazing breakfast, great location and helpful staff

Authentic rooms, nice decor The walls are so thin. You can hear everything from the next room over. Every laugh, every time they go to the bathroom.

Quirky in a positive way. The Sardinian version of Fawlty Towers. Clean comfortable rooms, A/C worked, art in the hallways and rooms. Friendly receptionists. On site parking is a plus. A little far from tourist activities and restaurants. Nearby COOP grocery store is handy to get paninis for dinner.

This hotel will make you feel like you are staying in a palace. It is very ornate. It had the most extensive breakfast of our visit to Italy. It is not a far walk to many of the sites. Parking is very convenient for the hotel. We wished they had an onsite restaurant where we could have gotten an evening meal.
