Art Hotel Ishigakijima

This hotel was centrally located to the city. Coffee was great on the breakfast buffet. The resort credit was nice for passing on housekeeping services. Towels were still left each day, and received a 1000 yen credit each night for usage on the property. I would have liked hard boiled eggs on the breakfast bar. I also was disappointed that the housekeeping service did not replenish water or toiletries. The towels for the pool area were smaller than I like.

It is beautiful and well-kept and clean The location was a bit difficult in terms of accessing things conveniently. The shuttle to the beach needed to be replaced while the other one was getting repaired

Really good selection of food in the breakfast buffet. Staff were kind and helpful. The area it’s located isn’t super central or the area particularly nice, but overall it was only about 15min walk from main city area.

Super lovely staff, good breakfast, great value for money. Some of the facilities were a little outdated, but they are doing renovations in a lot of areas.

the closing time of the swimming pool at 17PM is too early. after a day exploring the island i prefer to end it with a relaxing swimming pool session.

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff are so friendly and polite. The room is very clean. I like how they have programs how you want your room clean by housekeeping staff in order to earn points to use at the shop. If you choose Skip, they will not do your room but only giving you more towels. If you choose Eco, they will collect trash, give you a new set of pyjamas and towels. The buffet was good with several options and there are daily special that changes daily. The amenities are also good. I used the laundry, however, clothes werent exactly dried after 40’ in the dryer. We didnt use the swimming pool or the public bath. Both my girlfriend and I have tattoos, the receptionist told us we will need to buy stickers to cover them. So the bath in this hotel is not tattoo friendly. This hotel is walking distance to downtown about 20 mins. There are multiple parking lots. We arrived on a Friday so the two parking lots right in front of the hotel were full, they gave me a map to park in an additional lot 2. It was about 2 mins walk to the hotel but plenty of spaces. The famous misaki beef yakiniku restaurant is about 10 mins walk from the hotel. Wifi is sometimes sporadic. We didnt take the bus but there is one to Fusaki beach. There is also a traditional music performance on the main floor from 8-8:30pm everyday. Overall, we really like our stay. Highly recommend.

Longer hours for the oforu in the morning

It’s clean and there is a Yokuba at 2nd floor. It’s a little bit far away from busy area.

Spacious rooms, great location where you can walk to many restaurants, wonderful public bath facilities

No free water during the whole stay.

Clean, modern, well-located in the town. Overflow parking is a long-ish walk. Not too bad though.

Art Hotel Ishigaki is about 20 minutes walk from the main town area which is perfectly manageable and a pleasant walk - take an umbrella on hot days to shield from the sun. The hotel is very well set up and does accomodate English Speakers. As the restaurants run strict dining hours for lunch and dinner, we didn't use them. The roof top bar has lovely views and is worth a visit. We loved having Doug's coffee bar open for coffees and we also used the travel service to book a night time star gazing cruise. Art Hotel is also the local bus stop so you can time a trip to Kabira Bay which is a must - Kabira Bay is stunning. There are also shuttle services to the sister beachfront hotel, which we didn't use but understand the beach is very beautiful. Shin Shin Gyoza restaurant opposite the hotel is well worth a visit for their gyoza and chive omelette. Lovely owners, and the lady owner speaks English, so can help with ordering. Our trip was a little too short, we would love to have stayed longer. Nothing - Art Hotel is a very good choice if staying in Ishigaki and you are doing more than the beaches.

We stayed for 7 nights. This hotel is new and clean. The pool, onsen, sauna, breakfast, especially staffs. There is a bus station right at the entrance so it’s convenient to go around, the also have free shuttle bus to Fusaki beach. The reception lady is always helpful, the pool boy is nice to our kids, we are always the last ones to leave, he didn’t say time to close instead he said you can enjoy the last time of the slide?so touching! And thanks to Mr. Muramatsu, always around to help and give us good tips. We wish to stay more days! None

Spacious and comfortable rooms, very nice facilities (pool and onsen), great location within walking distance from town, super friendly and helpful staff, deliciously breakfast and great tour agency within the hotel

The rooms are a bit outdated and could use renovation.
