Big Orange Hotel Old City

The location couldn’t be better, right in the city centre and easy to reach by car. Mustafa was really accommodating and the check-in process very smooth. The room was clean and the air conditioning worked perfectly. We had a good stay and I would definitely stay here again.

My second stay here was awful because management exploits the Booking.com system and refuses to honor Genius discounted reservations. I reserved the Queen Suite for the second time, with a Genius discount, as it has a beautiful view. However, the management refused to honor the reservation, and booked other guests in the Queen Suite for a higher price. Then when I arrived, they tried to pressure me into accepting a much worse room for the same price. When I refused, they cancelled my reservation. When I got upset, they pretended not to speak English and refused to deal with me. I ended up staying at another hotel on the same block also owned by the same management. Later they claimed there was a problem with my credit card and that is why they cancelled. But they only canceled my reservation AFTER I arrived and refused to accept a bad room for the price of a good one, and clearly my credit card worked fine paying for a mediocre room in a different hotel under the same management. Never stay here, their whole sleazy game is to rip guests off.

The hotel is a scam. Located in a shady neighbourhood, would not recommend to anyone, especially for women. Apart from the cleaning lady that did her job very well, and one guy on the reception that was friendly, everything else was below standard. Some creepy men always gather at the reception to sit and talk the entire night, they made so much noise, we could not sleep because of them. One day the hotel owner shouted so loudly at the poor cleaning lady, I thought he was going to beat her. I got so scared and immediately went down to check on her. When I asked the guy what is going on, he just looked at me as if he was going to beat me. At that moment, as a woman, I felt so unsafe and so uncomfortable, even though I was with my family. Breakfast was served at the rooftop of the neighbouring hotel, but you could see flies and wasps on the food at whole times. You have to climb 5 floors, no elevator, and food was mediocre. Hotel owner is shady, seems like someone doing dirty business and was violent towards his cleaning lady. If I could, I would give -10 stars.

Rooftop area for breakfast was very nice. It had a good view of the sea.

Poor facilities and the pictures are outdated

I truly appreciate the kind hospitality of the staff, especially Mustafa for his patience and helpfulness As is common with hotels of this type, there may be occasional issues with the air conditioning. However, Mustafa promptly resolved the problem by transferring me to another room

Location is great, a few steps away from the main attractions. Also easy to reach public transport was a plus, not to mention the almost overwhelming offer of restaurants and shops. The room was quiet, even if adjacent to the railway, which surprisingly was not disturbing. Staff was also great, very helpful every time we had some requests. Unfortunately the wi-fi connection from the room we were in was poor.

Breakfast was very good and the location was perfect. Very good room with comfortable bed and good shower and special mention to our driver who picked us up at airport and dropped us back to airport. He was a very good driver who did a great job. Only thing was that the wifi was very intermittent however this may have been affected by the earthquake that struck Istanbul on the first full day we were there so happy to give this the benefit of the doubt as everything else was great

Double room but there was 2.single bed husband wife sleep in 2 separate bed how is look like

I’m very disappointed with my recent stay. The photos shown on Booking.com were not accurate — the room looked much bigger and more modern online. In reality, it was quite small and not as described. Additionally, the location was extremely loud due to railway tracks running right next to the hotel wall. Trains were passing by constantly, making it hard to rest or sleep. This crucial detail was never mentioned in the listing. I rely on Booking.com for trustworthy listings, but this experience felt very misleading. I hope the platform will take steps to ensure more accurate descriptions and honest photos in the future.

Room amenities were poor and not clean.

It was close to the main attractions but in a quiet street, away from the crowd. -

Not too small room, stuff were helpful and nice The breakfast was nice with a terrace city view The room has humidity smell, the TV was too small, no free services like water boiler, water, tea or cofee To have breakfast, you need to go to another hotel and go up through steps to the 4th floor

The owner was super friendly and polite. The room gave what it offered. The location is perfect: no noisy traffic but everything is very close by walk. The breakfast panorama is a huge plus. The transfer to the airport is affordable and the car they use is very posh ;) Despite of the heating the room was cold (personal opinion only). A construction is next to the building which is disturbing if you want to rest during the day. Because of it (?) we had many ants in the room. The breakfast is OK for a short stay, otherwise boring.

Very good

It was clean comfortable and perfect for me. It is very close to Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. Staff, even with limited English we’re pleasant and accommodating Nothing but if your travelling with a family it may not be ideal, there is a train line running behind the property however as a single male traveller it was perfect
