Hotel Vera

Location and breakfast Elevator stop was between floors, so you need to either go downstairs or climb up one floor

We liked the location of the hotel, the breakfast was fine but stayed same during the 4 days trip. The room was smaller than our expecation and the bathroom was very narrow.

I generally don’t leave negative reviews unless something truly warrants it—and unfortunately, this does. The hotel itself had been fine for most of the stay: the room was decent, staff were polite, and the location was convenient. But on the last day, something happened that completely ruined the experience. I walked into the bathroom and found a cockroach the size of two thumbs crawling across the floor. Yes, two thumbs. I wish I were exaggerating. It was not only disgusting, but unacceptable for a hotel in this price range. The worst part was that it made me question the cleanliness and hygiene standards of the entire room. Had it been there the whole time? What else might be lurking that I didn’t see? When I reported it to the front desk, the response was lukewarm at best. No real apology, no offer to make it right—just a shrug and a "Thanks for letting us know." That’s not how you handle something like this.

Excellent location - very walkable to all of the major sites in Sultanahmet. Faruk was very friendly and even gave us juice and sandwiches the morning we left because it was so early in the morning that the breakfast wasn’t ready. The room also had a lively balcony. The family quad room was small, but we knew that it would be from pictures and reviews. There isn’t really room for open suitcases so I wouldn’t recommend for more than a night or two. And keep in mind there is also a metal spiral staircase to get from the 3rd to 4th floor (again, this wasn’t a surprise for us, but could be an issue for large suitcases or small children).

We loved the breakfast; a wide range of choices are provided (real Turkish breakfast). The location is great as it is within walking distance from Sultanahmed landmarks. Plus, it was very clean, and the staff cleaned it every day. As there was construction going on nearby, it was noisy even at night.

Very good

The location was excellent. The room smelled like an ashtray. My allergies flared because of the strong, stale cigarette smell. It’s noisy, If you’re a light sleeper, you will need ear plugs. I was woken several times due to banging doors.

The place is conveniently settled in the city center. Room service is regular, and the breakfast is ok. The living conditions are poor: 1. Old & broken furniture (inside door handles are crushed, in my friends' room, the rain was dripping through the window pane) 2. Water stains on the bathroom floor. 3. The conditioner doesn't work at all. 4. The hair drier wires are sticking out from the wall which is pretty dangerous!

A small, cute and perfect located hotel in the old city center for a city trip! Very friendly and helpful hotel receptionist. Great Privé performance and all included what you need to feel comfortable. We definitely can recommend it ?
