The staff are amazingly friendly and quite willing to answer our questions and help fulfill our needs. I liked the upstairs 24 hour bar. The hotel is very strategically located. 2-3 blocks from Main Street. It is also very quiet.

The location is excellent. Walking distance to several places of interest, yet in a quiet neighborhood. Staff is wonderful. Plentiful breakfast and 24-hour lounge upstairs with a open terrace and view of the bay.

Close to the Grand Bazaar, It was like a 10-minute walk. Close to public transportation. Excellent breakfast and wonderful staff, It was easy to get to from the airport by taxi. The views from the rooftop cafe were great. The direct neighborhood was a bit dirty and quiet at night. We didn't feel unsafe but I wouldn't walk alone. Not many cafes right around the hotel.

Like the location, friendly staff and cleanliness of the hotel. Bathroom shower is very small and very tight tube like shower box. Breakfast is not that impressive, same variety everyday sometimes even less

My travel companions and I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast each morning—it was a great start to the day. The hotel’s location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk to the Grand Bazaar and within easy walking distance (30 minutes or less) to all major attractions south of the Galata Bridge, including the main mosques. We also made good use of the T1 tram line to reach the Galata Bridge and explore a few stops beyond. The staff were exceptionally helpful and polite, always available to answer questions and assist with bookings. They even arranged taxis at the standard local rates with no mark-up. The Wi-Fi connection was strong and reliable throughout our stay. A great experience overall! Our room was a bit smaller than expected based on the photos, but it suited our needs perfectly as we were mainly looking for a clean and convenient base close to the main tourist attractions. While the hotel has a more dated appearance, it’s well maintained and offers an authentic charm that matched the feel of our short 3-night stay. There are a few dining options nearby, though we found better variety just a short 10-minute taxi ride away. One small suggestion would be to offer slightly larger quilts for added comfort, but overall, we were very satisfied with our stay.

Atmospheric, Ottoman and comfortable Lovely rooftop bar Staff a joy to treat with No issues

We liked the overall "Turkish" feeling of the hotel. The decor and old photos of Istanbul were lovely. The staff were friendly and so helpful. The location was great - easy access to the Grand Bazaar, money exchanges, restaurants/fast food, etc. - all within easy walking distance. The upper deck was lovely - with a great view of the ships on the Bosphorous. The breakfast was also great!

Hotel Niles Istanbul is a great value small hotel in the heart of the touristic hustle and bustle area of Istanbul (Fatih, Sultanahmet). While not the most friendly location when you first arrive from the airport (the neighborhood is a commercial area with narrow and steep streets full of stores selling clothes, purses, leather goods, night gowns, bed and bath articles, etc.), it is an easy walk to all of the major touristic attractions of Istanbul. The area is safe, and feels more touristic as you walk uphill, and more local as you walk downhill. The rooms were very quiet and noise from the street was never an issue. From here, you can easily walk to Hagia Sofia, Topkapi, Sultanahmet (Blue) Mosque, Grand Bazaar, and even the Süleymaniye Mosque can be reached by foot, although a bit further away. You can also easily take the Tram line 1 towards Katabaç to visit the sumptuous Dolmabahçe Palace on the Bosphorus. The hotel is comfortable, but not luxurious. Super clean, and well maintained. The turkish bath in the bathroom is a treat which makes a bath after a long hot day a fun experience. The staff is wonderful, helpful, and welcoming. One of the favorite parts of the stay is the delicious breakfast on the roof top restaurant. I looked forward to the breakfast every morning, where Halil and his staff awaited us with fresh watermelon salads and melon salads, a variety o local cheese and a delicious variety of typical turkish breakfast dishes. The breakfast experience will be a memorable experience. Eating simit bread with turkish tea, fresh honeycomb, cucumber/yogurt salad overlooking the Marmara is a treat. I would absolutely go back to Hotel Niles in a return to Istanbul. Highly recommend it. There was no particular aspect of my stay that I did not like. One area for improvement would be for the management of the hotel to create a guide of local stores where the tourist can buy typical turkish items without being afraid of being over-charged for every item. For example, I wanted to buy all sorts of bed and bath items (linen, towels, etc.) but the staff at those stores clearly were trying to overcharge for those items. Really sad, because at the end I did not buy anything. The staff could share their local knowledge with tourists.

The location was great, nice and central to all of the main attractions which were all within 10-15 minutes walking distance. The hotel was a traditional Turkish establishment and my room was nice and spacious. I appreciated traditional aspects of the room-Turkish bath. Loved the underfloor heating. Being on the top floor it was a little warm at times but I was able to open the window to let some fresh air in. Breakfast was nice, although it could have had a few more choices, especially for western travelers. Entry to the room was via an actual key. It never worked for me! This required me to go back to reception from level 4 every time I wanted to enter my room and ask for assistance to do so. This became quite tiresome and it wasn't well received by management. I also felt a little judged by management for travelling as a single, solo woman.

Like staying in a classy hotel on a stop on the old Orient Express! Wonderful checkin with Ege with hot tea and turkish delights. The hotel manager introduced himself and gave us a contact card if we ever needed anything, day or night. Had a junior suite with a hamam... highly recommended! The rooftop bar was a sight to behold.. and staffed 24 hours a day. Oh, and the breakfast was fantastic.
