Candlewood Suites Jacksonville - Mayport by IHG

I only spent one night and left the next morning; I did use the coffee pot but was somewhat disppointed in no breakfast of any kind came with the room.

Its ok for a 1 or 2 night stay

We could not stay in our room because the room was infested was insects(roaches). As soon as we entered the room we noticed roaches crawling on the floor and the walls. There were even baby roaches floating in the toilet. We asked for another room and was informed that there were no more rooms available except that one. We immediately checked out of the hotel. Luckily there was another hotel across the street. The lady at front desk apologized for the issues and that a full refund will be given.

Staff was great

First time trip by myself & arrived late in the evening, a little nervous as I was not familiar with the area. Was pleasantly surprised. Front desk staff was welcoming & thorough in the explanation of how things worked. Room was very clean & inviting. I was thankful for the comfy bed & it was pretty quiet. Happy to be able to cook breakfast in my room. Nice stay…I will use them for future trips.

Room seemed fine when me and my family walked in. We later found 2 cockroaches and killed them but didn't think much of it. When we woke up at 5am to go see the sunrise at Atlantic Beach, which is near by, the room was crawling with cockroaches!!! They were on the wall, in the bath tub, on the table and the nightstands!!! We immediately began shaking out our luggage, packed all of our stuff and left!! Contacted Expedia and began a claim. I'm praying that we don't take any home with us.

Good location that is walkable and safe. Restaurants and stores nearby. Friendly staff, quiet area and clean rooms make it a win.

several weeks before to verify that I truly needed a handicap room. I assured them that I did. 2 days before they said the room was not available. The staff member (Carol) booked another hotel for a regular room. She is hard to understand and very pushy. She didn’t let me talk.The hotel ‘Marriott tried to accommodate by putting a cafeteria chair in the shower (very dangerous). The Marriott on Mayport is a much nicer hotel. I was under the impression a handicap room was ordered at the Marriott. Why would they do this to a handicap person? All Carol kept saying that the Marriott had 2 beds and a free breakfast. I would have booked a different hotel on my own.

Always a clean room, towels when asked for, friendly staff it’s near Dunkin and the dollar tree right down the road from a bunch of food places and a park driving distance away about 10 min. The kitchen is very nice comes with pots and pans and cups and dishes and a dish washer. I’d recommend I stayed a week never had any problems recommend this stay
