Zostel Plus Wayanad

I loved everything about this Zostel no doubt why it's so buzzing with people

Location is quite good, pleasant within the tea estate. But the food at the restaurant is bit expensive and not so tasteful. Lots of guests with vehicles ate going downhill to have 3 meals and travellers who don't have any option went to restaurants. Didn't the hostel vibes as there were no common place or activities in the evening where all can gather and interact. Only setup stand alone place where only few chitchat can happen. Rest is fine.

Okay but expensive food options for the captives. Nice views but run down worn out resources, ie. chairs, tables etc Bunk beds are frankly hazardous, no barriers to prevent falling out, no shelves, broken useless lockers, staff used dorm toilet because no toilet for public use anywhere near, on the main floor. No one followed rules on music etc after 10 or 11pm. Manager often sat in his fancy VW Golf running the engine and sleeping in it, causing unnecessary pollution.

The ambience, the staff was excellent The Food was not good and overpriced. Unhygienic preparation.

One of the best trips I have had Lovely property. Didn't feel the need to get out of Zostel. Beautiful place and warm people!

Very beautiful and peaceful. They settled the place well to enjoy the wonderful view :) The restaurant was very very tasty, even if slightly more pricey than the rest (still ok ~250 for a meal). People we met there were lovely!!! Far from everything (400-500 ruppies to go to the city kalpetta) and you must not come back late at night as it's dangerous (wild animals etc ...) We arrived at the wrong time during a strike against elephant killing people in the fields, so we couldn't do anything all day........ Dogs were doing a lot of noise at night but they are very cute ? The swimming pool was close.

An idyllic spot just below Chembra Peak, well away from the hustle of Kalpetta and Meppadi, with beautiful views. They have a free sunrise walk which was lovely and interesting and we did a 90 min mountain bike trek with them. They also suggested a short walk to a little waterfall and pool for dip, but it’s not very impressive in February as very little recent rain. There’s also music in the evening when it’s busy. They helpfully told us how much it costs to go up Chembra Peak which was £80 or Rupees 8000 for 2 non-Indians, so although that had been our original plan we decided we’d had enough activity with MTB etc and just chilled The swimming pool is more of a small plunge pool, but the temperature in February was lovely so we didn’t feel in desperate need of a dip.

Beautiful property, surrounded by acres of tea estate, pet dogs, well cleaned, great co travellers, Comfortable beds with 8 inch mattress, strong WiFi connection Catering service can improve. Should provide cutlery and let us bring food from outside. Provide a microwave.
