Simon is an awesome host!
-
The host was excellent and very polite. The whole staff was available 24/7. It is a good value for money.

Clean rooms with a stunning view. There's also a terrace to enjoy the lake view. Simon and his stuff are polite and helpful and we felt like at home. They also have a bar and a very good restaurant.

He was clear and concise in response to my questions. He listened keenly and paid attention to our needs. He gave us accurate directions and even had someone at hand to guide us to the facility. Simon's colleagues at the facility were also warm, welcoming, friendly and helpful. We ran out of drinks at some point but they went out of their way to get us options. The BEST part? The VIEWS. Excellent views of Nalubale. Nam Lolwe. Some call it Lake Victoria. It couldn't get better than that. Simon and I had wonderful conversations at their chic little bar and he taught me quite a bit about Uganda and Kampala. Wonderful host. Did I say we got a room upgrade? Overall, we had a great time and got good value for money and had good interactions with people at the facility. The breakfast could be better

Cleanness, good and nice staff and VERY helpful The location is a bit far from the road, but I understand that it has a lake-view…

Rosa Negra, Uganda, is a beautiful blend of classic elegance and modern comfort. The food is delicious, and the restaurant offers a serene atmosphere—perfect for working while enjoying a meal. The rooms are cozy, and the breathtaking view over Lake Victoria is simply unmatched. The staff are truly exceptional: well-trained, respectful, and always eager to assist. The manager, Simon, embodies the phrase "the client is king"—his dedication to service is outstanding. The only downside is the access road, which can be challenging, especially after rain. That said, if you enjoy a bit of adventure and love being surrounded by nature, this might just add to the charm of your stay!

The service was prompt, and the staff were consistently polite and professional. However, the highlight of our stay was the incredible hospitality of the hotel manager, Mr. Simon. His humility, keen attention to detail, and client-centered professionalism left us genuinely impressed. He made our stay smooth, warm, and unforgettable. I and my love Martha left amazed and grateful—and we can't wait to return for our next vacation. A few areas for improvement- Wi-Fi was off, the meals could be enhanced in variety, quantity, and quality including fruits and vegetables. The parking space could be generally inconveniencing on busy days....fortunately, it’s a very private place with low traffic, so this is rarely an issue. Regardless, it's the place to be for your private date.... Personal getaway, busy working holiday etc.

Rosa Negra Hotel offered great value for money, with exceptionally kind staff and a particularly helpful and knowledgeable manager named Simon. He went above and beyond to ensure I had a great stay! Potential guests should note that the hotel is in Kigo, approximately 20km from Kampala city center, and the 1.2km entrance/access road is in poor condition. Additionally, the breakfast lacked variety. Despite these minor issues, I highly recommend this hotel for budget-conscious travelers looking to make the most of their stay.

Great pricing and location. Hotel staff especially and services were very good. When I ran into any issues, Simon was always available and helpful. Had the best experience here. Thank you Simon and rosa Negra staff for the great service. Highly recommended to everyone

My recent stay at Rosa Negra in Uganda was predominantly a delightful experience. The establishment itself is truly charming, with an atmosphere that perfectly captures the authentic Ugandan hospitality. The standout feature of Rosa Negra is undoubtedly its staff. Their helpfulness and flexibility went above and beyond my expectations. No request seemed too difficult, and their willingness to accommodate special needs made the stay particularly comfortable. The service deserves special mention - it was simply exceptional. From check-in to check-out, the attention to detail and genuine care for guests' comfort was evident in every interaction. Despite minor location-related challenges, Rosa Negra offers a genuine and pleasant Ugandan stay experience. If you're looking for authenticity, excellent service, and don't mind a few local quirks, this place is definitely worth considering. While Rosa Negra itself is wonderful, prospective guests should be aware of a few external factors: The access road is quite challenging - extremely rough in places, which might be difficult for some vehicles or uncomfortable for travelers not accustomed to rural Ugandan roads. The location includes some unique neighbors: there's a mosque directly opposite the property, which comes with regular prayer calls that may affect light sleepers. Additionally, a small chicken farm nearby means enthusiastic roosters serve as natural alarm clocks, often earlier than one might prefer! The internet connectivity was also problematic throughout my stay, with the Wi-Fi not working most of the time. I'd recommend future guests prepare by purchasing a local SIM card and data bundle as a backup, which proved essential during my visit.

Conveniently close to one of the best golf courses in East Africa, the bar is amazing and showing sports all day every day. The staff were amazing and friendly. You can order snacks or food all day long. The view over the lake and the Serena resort is amazing, also the city lights at night! The rooms are a bit small and no storage for clothes, you'll have to live out of your suitcase.
