Plakan Resort

We were looking for a well deserved rest at Kanchanaburi from the hectic schedule we had in Bangkok since the last few weeks and we chance upon Plakan Resort after having studied some reviews. We had a 2 nights 3 days experiences at this resort and was not a least disappointed. We were well received at the front counter, greeted by a team of enthusiastic and warm staffs. Even the welcome drinks of lemon tea, brings a flash of refreshment. For a moment I thought we were in a museum, the lobby was littered with "good old days" every day items that bring me back to my younger days! Every items were meticulously arranged and taken care for. There is an old black and white TV showing old Japanese movies! I couldn't believe my eyes! Check in was fast and orderly. The next surprise was the size of the and the high ceiling! The bed is so huge that I need to roll 2 times to reach my wife ?? and they were generous with the pillows too. You can do "breakdance" in the toilet too! ? The owner take alot of pain to design and build this resort. The rooms are soundproof ya! ? The whole surrounding area brings a sense of isolation from all the cities noises. Right in the heart of the resort, stands a magnificent Log House with is their eating place cum restaurant. Super high ceiling with a smell of old country side. We spend pretty much of our stay at the restaurant and mind you, the food is really good ??? Every one of their staffs and well trained to advise us on the places to go and the best choice of food in their menu. Very attractive in their service which impressed us as it's difficult to find services of this standard! Good job guys! if there is a 6 stars we will give it to them! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Management are all ears for feedbacks and commendations! Should be coming back again. This impression will carry with us for sometime. ( Handicap friendly too)

One of the highlights of this hotel is the in-house museum, which adds a unique and memorable touch to the experience. The staff are exceptional—the busboy in particular stood out for his genuine kindness and warm demeanor every time I passed by. The reception team is equally polite and welcoming, and the check-in process was smooth and efficient. During my first stay, I booked a superior room, which was spacious, comfortable, and thoroughly enjoyable. I was so impressed that I decided to return for the Songkran holiday and upgrade to a river-view suite—and it exceeded all expectations. The suite is simply incredible. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a coffee bar near the entrance. It features a large living room overlooking the river, a spacious bedroom, two toilets, two refrigerators, and an impressive bathroom. And yes—three balconies, each offering a beautiful perspective of the surroundings. It truly feels like a little slice of heaven in Kanchanaburi. The restaurant also deserves special mention. The food is absolutely delicious, and the service is outstanding, making every meal a pleasure. Staying here, it’s clear that the owner takes great pride in the property. That pride reflects in the attention to detail, the high standards, and the genuine care shown by the staff throughout the hotel. I highly recommend Plakan Resort to anyone looking for a relaxing and beautiful getaway. I was truly sad to leave, but I’m already looking forward to returning in the near future.

Hotel is really good, clean and environment really chill, suit for the old folks and family. The staff very friendly and helpful breakfast have a lots of choices overall experience is good definitely will come back again : )

Great facility, small, well maintained property. I stayed in a suite. it was a good size with nice furnishings. I was very happy with my stay. There is only one thing to disliked and needs to be mentioned. The property is next to a main highway. The noise level is high and distracting. Otherwise, my stay was perfect.

Nicely designed. Friendly staff. Food really really needs improvement. In terms of doneness, I ordered steamed fish - it came out dry and fishy, not juicy, not fresh; a soft-boiled egg served completely cold and 99% of the egg inside was still raw! Etc. Despite having only 2 of us in the restaurant, coffee which was obviously made with automated coffee machine kept us wait for quite a while; the staff spent too much time prep. The coffee itself was seriously tasteless. What a disappointing breakfast! In-room slippers were used and not cleaned. Funny that they found two clothes hangers were lost when we checked out and thought we stole them! Goodness.

The property was beautifully kept. The outside dining facility was near a busy road.

Rooms were nicely designed, hotel very pretty with paintings, on the river, spotless. Display with all kinds of antiques in lobby. Nothing

Outdoor Decor was excellent . Pool was nice. Staff were helpful and plesent. More breakfast options would be nice. Location far from town.
