Thamel Eco Resort

Friendly staff The manager is a bit tricky; he wanted to charge 15 USD for the free airport pickup. I paid 1000 rupee at the airport for the ride to the hotel, he thought he could get away with it but in the end he reimbursed me. Also, the hiking day trip he organized didn’t meet expectations, we asked for an 8 hour/ day trip and paid a lot (too much) but we find out when we arrived at the hiking place that it was only a 4 hour hike. The guide was “experienced” but couldn’t tell much as it was before covid that he done this hike.

Location WiFi didn’t work in the room. Black mould in bathroom and bedroom. Door didn’t lock. Breakfast was until 9 and I came down at 8 and all hot food had gone. Said they could change money but didn’t want to change rupees back into dollars

Peaceful is a word to describe Even breakfast ,lunch was very serene, if I could take the chef home for some of the meals I would Staff members from cleaners to manager being very friendly and organizing the details without you needing to worry and already on the button for you to enjoy your stay whether taxi or organizing your itinerary plans And all travellers had a good story to share making the ambience of the place beautiful and very family oriented

Located in the heart of Thamel, this place is nice for young travelers who want a lively and loud accommodation. Unfortunately, it was incredibly loud at the resort. Groups would gather in the courtyard and one night kept us awake until 2am with loud talking and laughing. There were no staff on hand to complain to. Also, when trying to get estimates for taxonomies booked through the hotel, we were told to negotiate with the driver. The drivers would tell us the hotel would book the fare and then we would get a bill for three times the normal taxi price. As such, we often felt swindled.

The staff is absolutely amazing! They make us feel at home and they are always happy to help you in everything you need. The little garden in the middle is just perfect to relax a bit from the busy streets of Kathmandu. Breakfast is ok, a mix of intercontinental and nepalese style. Some rooms are quite small and old.

Very helpful. We needed a taxi for Ramechhap airport and the staff were quick to help at a great price. You can also change your money and have a beer whilst you wait. Lovely start to kathmandu/EBC trek Nothing

I liked the location of the hotel which was in the heart of Thamel. The room was spacious and clean. We didn’t like the room that we were previously given so we changed it and shifted to another room which was much better.

Central location. Very Quiet place in the middle of Thamel! The windows, in first room they gave us, were completely nailed! So you couldn't open it for some fresh air! The door locker was broken! When we closed the door to go to the reception to ask for another room the door got stuck with our backpacks inside. We had to wait more than half hour to open it and get out staff! Breakfast was very basic and the coffee instant!

Manager was very helpful and cooperative. Fulfilled requirements quite well.

Accomodation owners are super super friendly and approachable. They will help you with any needs like hiring taxis/booking treks. They don't try to sell extra products onto you, they will just help you arrange things if you need the help. Good clean room. Nice hot shower. Satisfied with my stay. It was great - no concerns.
