Property fine at good location Telephone not Working! Internet not Working. And Just Excuses. It was waste of Money compared to the price and facility

It felt like home. The staff were all so so kind. It was my kind of place, with a beautiful courtyard for meals (and a fantastic breakfast), unique local art and beautiful furniture, things like a guitar I could play as well as board games and books. I was grateful for the gym and yoga (one of the best teachers I’ve ever come across and I’ve been practicing over 20 years). It’s everything I’d want in a boutique hotel. And the kindness of the staff just puts it over the top. Thanks again ??? I’ll be back next time for sure!

Very accommodating people, kind and attentive. I liked everything.

The location is great for a young tourist who is looking forward for cultural heritage at daytime and bars by the evening. The district is safe and has its own atmosphere. The hotel is charming, clean and staff is extremely helpful and polite. I met the highest level of hospitality and exceptional service. I also liked the inner garden where you can sit at the evening with a drink or a dinner. I can highly recommend this place.

The only thing that made our stay a little bit miserable was that the A/C in our room stopped working and couldn't turn on for the entire night so we had to open windows to let the air (and noise) come in. The staffs were trying to help but there was not much he could do. The best answer we got was that the electrician would come in the morning!

Very nice boutique hotel, in the heart of Thamel. The hotel itself has an isolated courtyard. Staff is very helpful and friendly. These is like an "island of quiet and peace" in the middle of Kathmandu. They can arrange car with a driver and a tur guide - which we used - was great. The hotel has no elevator - so make sure your room is on a reasonable floor. Other than that, our room did not have a desk - which would have been nice to have.

Location was convenient and the staff was very welcoming. I also enjoyed the alfresco breakfasts.

The staff were beyond helpful and kind. Great amenities! Bottled water in the room each day, an excellent breakfast with a menu of items to order off of, beautiful views of the city/courtyard, a very knowledgable instructor leading yoga each morning. We also arranged for a half-day driver to do some sightseeing around Kathmandu. I would love to stay there again and was very sad to say goodbye.

Everything. We had high expectations and the Dalai La lived up to all of them. The staff are a big part of the experience- they are warm and go above and beyond to be helpful (for example Ujjwal helped our friend sort her e-sim). The comfort is excellent and we loved the art. We liked everything

We loved the courtyard and our room was spacious- great value. The bathroom wall is a bit odd - it was glass and didn’t provide as much privacy as one might like (sound and otherwise) when using the facilities.

I stayed at Dalai-La Boutique Hotel from July 30–31, 2025, and loved every bit of it. As an American traveler, I’ve seen my share of hotels, but this place felt genuinely special. The moment I walked in, the traditional Nepalese architecture transported me—almost like being in Bhaktapur or Patan, right in the middle of Kathmandu. The courtyard was unbelievably peaceful, a quiet retreat from the bustle of Thamel, and a perfect place to unwind with a tea. The room was large, comfortable, and tastefully done with local touches that made it feel authentic without being kitschy. The food was another highlight—full of real Nepali flavors. I especially enjoyed their momo and the local-style dishes; everything was fresh and thoughtfully prepared. What truly made the stay stand out was the staff. Everyone was warm, attentive, and seemed to take pride in making sure guests felt welcome. It didn’t feel like a transactional stay—it felt personal. If you’re visiting Kathmandu and want a boutique hotel that combines heritage charm, tranquility, great food, and friendly service—especially if you’re exploring Thamel—this is a top pick. I’d happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone traveling to Nepal. Everything was great

Being located in the heart of Thamel is very convenient, and this hotel offers a relaxed atmosphere compared to the busy street. An authentic Nepalese vibe, great food and friendly and accommodating staff throughout the hotel.

Cozy and cute boutique hotel. The staff was helpful and friendly. I ate at the restaurant twice and had the Thali dish both times because it was that good. They offered yoga classes but unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to go. Great location in Thamel. Some of the traffic noise from the street in the early morning was loud.
